He was ordered to stop racial profiling, refused, and was found in contempt of court. They weren't "going after you" you were warned and refused.

I mean, Georgia's governor was convicted of embezzlement - and to top it off, for the trial, he used STATE TAXPAYER FUNDS (in a case about his misuse of state taxpayer funds and his firing of whistleblowers) to pay his daughter's law firm about THREE TIMES what they normally charge.

And when it came time to choose between this jackass and a Democrat at the next election, Georgia Republicans collectively said "Look, we'd rather have someone who uses our tax dollars for personal gain than a DEMOCRAT. Who knows what kind of damage a Democrat could do?!"

Actually, I'm pretty sure he's banking on this to distract from Gorka resigning and the fact that he just signed a directive to prevent transgenders from joining the military (and removes the Department of Defenses ability to provide medical treatment for transgender individuals already in the military).

At this point I'm pretty convinced Trump himself is only in office to provide nonstop distractions so that the current administration can do even worse behind the scenes. He's obviously not a politician. He's a circus clown. "Look at me so you don't see them beating the animals into submission!"
