Maybe, Kim is ruthless, he executed his uncle because his uncle devised a plan to reinvigorate the NK economy. The plan was actually somewhat successful (although it only benefits the elites) and Kim killed him because he believed that he knew too much and was a threat to his power.

several generations have been taught, from birth, to believe the Kim family are semi-deities. They enshrine park benches that they sit on, are required to have pictures of the Kim family in their homes, and are only allowed to have specific haircuts that are approved by the Kim family.

NK would be a tough nut to crack, militarily, economically, and physiologically.

Yeah there's a difference between poor people living in a rural area who farm for a living and upper-middle class urban people. What a shocking revelation.

should start evacuating south Korea one citizen at a time, grab a bunch of shovels and dig a tunnel to China. make sure NK wouldn't notice the tunnel so it would have to be away from satellite surveillance, and eventually after most people are evacuated the US can swoop in with some fighter jets and bomb the shit outta the NK military and nuclear arsenal.

either that or just send a few unwitting fans in to get rid of the NK leader with some toxins. Wheres Dennis Rodman when you need him?

Sorry, nerd. But you shit just like everyone else, and you will die like everyone else. You are not different in the slightest.

You need to have some sort of superiority complex to even call them peasants. Look at you, privileged to live in Canada and looking down on poor farmers. Pathetic to the fucking max.

Edit: On a serious note, I don't see how this is going to end well. N.K seems determined to persist in harassing everyone else... so someone's probably going to end up paying the ultimate price. And as per usual, I don't expect it to be the people sat behind their desks.

They are literally peasants - objectively they fit the definition of peasants. It doesn't make an ounce of difference that we're all mortal.

I'm not looking down on anyone, I'm describing them according to the facts. There's nothing wrong with being a peasant farmer, and plenty of people in the Western World actually seek out that lifestyle for themselves. It is what it is, just like shepherds are shepherds.

Enjoy the ban though I guess.

NK could use some freedom, the people living there have no idea whats going on outside of that shitty place.

Would be fun seeing them trying to adapt else where.

No, they aren't peasants, they are Koreans and people, unlucky enough to be born, and in North Korea at that.

Putting a label like a derogatory term like a peasant, is high browing the issue and you know it.

China won't get involved regardless of what happens, China doesn't have enough military power to even take Russia on at this point. Why you think China is so adamant on the fact that USA needs to defuse the situation because they know if they get dragged in the war, they'll get equally as fucked as NK would get fucked.

Target all of Kim's defensives pin point where he and his top lieutenants will be and take him. I don't know if it can all be done or not but I'd rather that than nuke people.
All North Korean citizens, they would all be sacrificed in the war, they're probably even crazier than ISIS terrorists at this point, if you see what 1 year of indoctrination can do in the ISIS camps, let alone getting indoctrinated from the moment you were born. Sad to say, but there's no place for NK and it's citizen's in the modern world.

    So, just a quick summary.

NK has massive A-Bomb, some even think that it's a H-Bomb.

They are one of the worst authoritarian country in the world.

One-China policy hates the fact that NK did this, but they won't accept outsiders to deal with them.

NK is now able to hit Japan and is well on its way to hit the US.

Any military action from the US or their allies can easily end with either an allied country getting lapidated or NK inhabitants getting slaughtered.

    So, lose/lose, no matter what.

    Also, Russia.

They are North Korean peasants. Do you know anything about farmers in North Korea? They farm State lands and give away most of their produce to the State.

They are quite literally peasants. Yes, it's not a great life by most people's standards. No, it's not judgemental to call them what they are.
That's why we have words with meanings.

    They are quite literally peasants.
    Peasant
    informal
an ignorant, rude, or unsophisticated person; a person of low social status.

Calling them peasant in your manner makes it look like they have a choice in the matter.

More accurate, is slave, if you want to be pedantic and blase about labels. It's readily apparent you do. Because you are trying to high brow the definition.

Calling them peasants is completely inaccurate to their actual plight. Debasing them by calling them peasants is just ridiculous.

In my manner? You're just assuming my intent and I'm telling you that you are mistaken. I'm calling them peasants because it describes their life situation as farmers who work land they don't own and are forced to give most of their produce away to the State. And, for the record, they are of low social status in NK.

It makes no difference if they have a choice or not. Feudal peasants had as much of a choice as modern ones do.

OK first off the Command and Conquer comment, haha

Terrible game but you have a great point, except I am not suggesting I know at all what we can do, nor whether that is the best strategy obviously we have the best people in the world to make that call, my hypothesis at best was out of my hope, my feeling if you will about what I'd like to do if all things I thought mattered here, which they don't.

It was out of response to the fact I would like to see nobody die for this lunatic, not on his ill conceived ideas and ego on either side, I rather not get into a prolonged war that takes lives, not Kim's to stop this, but I would also not like to Nuke it from the sky as some have suggested, none of which I have any control over, but would cost millions of lives that if possible I would like to keep from losing.

Yeah none of what you said I have any doubt, I have done a bit of research on NK what little there is and tried to separate fact from fiction. I mentioned the possibility there is already dissent within NK, but possibly nobody with teeth that can really do anything about Kim. Reaching out to them might just be another devil we don't know if possible.

But yeah tough Nut to Crack or not, I was against the Invasion of Iraq, I am not into the idea of going to war and Nation building but Kim has to go.
