My guess is they are hoping to try and provoke being attacked, so they can run to daddy China and get bailed out militarily and economically.

China won't get involved regardless of what happens, China doesn't have enough military power to even take Russia on at this point. Priorities first evacuation of possible targets from NK might be enough in and of itself to get them to second guess or recalculat. Then scout scan for munitions using advanced technologies and isolate the weapons facilities directly related to any offensive possibilities. Then contact allies for help in a humanitarian effort alone even if it means breaking NK up temporarily.

Target all of Kim's defensives pin point where he and his top lieutenants will be and take him. I don't know if it can all be done or not but I'd rather that than nuke people.

All North Korean citizens, they would all be sacrificed in the war, they're probably even crazier than ISIS terrorists at this point, if you see what 1 year of indoctrination can do in the ISIS camps, let alone getting indoctrinated from the moment you were born. Yeah none of what you said I have any doubt, I have done a bit of research on NK what little there is and tried to separate fact from fiction. I mentioned the possibility there is already dissent within NK, but possibly nobody with teeth that can really do anything about Kim. Reaching out to them might just be another devil we don't know if possible.

But yeah tough Nut to Crack or not, I was against the Invasion of Iraq, I am not into the idea of going to war and Nation building but Kim has to go.
