Danganronpa v3 Chapter 1 - me irl before the trial

I really did think this was an easy one. I had everything in my mind, including potential misleading culprits and why they might be blamed. My main two actual possible culprits were Shuichi and Rantaro.

Shuichi was obvious. Everything was pointing towards him, especially since zero blame was put on him before the trial even started. It was almost too obvious. So when the blame shifted onto him right before the intermission, I was certain it was my second choice.

My reasoning for Rantaro was simple: he had a plan of his own, and obviously would have set something up. So I thought he might have accidentally killed himself with the shotput ball. Maybe he planted it beforehand in preparation for something, but because of the cameras (which he didn't expect) he ended up killing himself accidentally with his own trap. This would explain why nobody admitted guilt for the First Blood, as the murderer was already dead. Of course, thinking about it now, it doesn't make any sense why he would set up a shotput ball there in the first place.

Kaede was really left-field. I didn't think it impossible for it to be her, she was one of the potential suspects. But I really didn't expect the murder method. Frankly, I still find it kind of hard to believe. The fact that Shuichi a. didn't notice her moving the books in such a strange layout (especially so far away from the grate...) and b. didn't notice she lagged behind him to open the grate and use the ball is a bit out there. Plus, Kaede had no way of knowing there would be music during the final hour to block out the sound of the ball. So her plan was kind of retarded because if she didn't luck out then the 'mastermind' would have seen the attack coming.

Regardless, it was pretty great. I do admit there were a bunch of textual hints that I missed, like Kaede 'putting everything she was holding into her backpack' at the warehouse. And having the 'protagonist' be the culprit in the very first trial is kind of neat. Especially since Rantaro himself didn't seem like someone who would be be the first death.

Gameplay-wise it was ok. I did like the 'split battle' though, the music was really hype.

It's rather difficult to find out considering you can only watch by either ponying up for Amazon's double paywall or sit through a ton of adds on Kissanime for a low quality stream and become paranoid about links and popups to viruses.
