The only thing I can think of is the Longest Journey? but it doesn't quite match your description :/

Actually damn good, but not a very hard game based on a simple trial and error mechanics of learning your surroundings. Biggest feature is that you can go to forums and circle-jerk with other people how awesome you and they're for simply completing it.

    Nope.

Another tip, should make it a lot more obvious: It's originally a japanese game.

Point goes to the series in general.

Timetraveling Bloodsucker wields a sword that makes Frostmourne blush.

For the life of me, I can't get Halyon's one... you put a tricky one!

Here are two others that are quite easy:

Kill EVERYONE or don't, but prepare to go on a feels and/or laugh train, or feel like an absolute ass, depending on what you do. There's also spaghetti.

    And

Leave it to the dev team behind the original incarnation of the game to UTTERLY, BRUTALLY AND VIOLENTLY shatter the mold of the genre that, before this game was very... mundane and felt copy-paste.

You travel through time to prevent an upcoming apocalypse.

Tip: They made a sequel and theres a fan made game too.

A young boy from an ancient and powerful bloodline discovery his power during his journey to save his world from a demon invasion. His mother is the only guardian left and she's dying.

    Tip: They made many sequel/reboot.

General tip: Old school (platform) games.

    Ding!

As for the second one, here's a hint:

For as far as this game has come from it's old incarnation, the objective is still the same. KILL EVERYTHING THAT MOVES. on mars.

Metro: 2027 of course. Last Light works too. Easily one of the most atmospheric series I've ever played.

You're the leader of a caravan, trying to survive in a world where the gods are dead by engaging in somewhat clunky but still fun turn-based combat.

Tip: watch out for the giants and metal men.

Platform games? As in console platforms, or platformers (games where you often jump between platforms, like Mario)? They descriptions make me think of Chrono Trigger and Breath of Fire respectively but those weren't platformers, if the latter..

    FF7? It's very vague otherwise...
