    YES!

Loved Shadow Hearts, picked it up as the pre-order bonus when Shadow Hearts 2 was coming out and man was it a gem. Found Koudelka on e-bay afterward and played it for like 20 minutes before turning it off and never touching it again.

Nope, as @Wrecktangle said it's Shadow Hearts.

Ha Excellent! I never even played it, despite owning it. It's on my list. I just went through the games I've never played of that era and it's literally like the only one so it had to be it.

Here's one from me: Same rough era.

4 Islands. A hero & his 2 girls and a wise crackin bird.

On an island mining colony where prisoners of the kingdom are sent to to work the mines, a group of wizards attempt to cast a spell that goes terribly wrong, trapping everyone inside by a magical barrier. The prisoners use the confusion to take over, establishing trade with the outside world for the ore. The player is thrown into this mess, left to figure out what his place in all of it is.

    Tip: It's a western RPG

    Gothic

Ok, time to make one again :

A group of four people descend into sewers, dwarven ruins, drow compounds and old cellars to find a hidden threat.

Ayupp, though I actually prefer the second game. Found it hard to make the pitch for that one however.

    Which game is this?

I have one close to this one.

You gain a small amount of power from the boss you kill.
Eventually you go back time. The end is the beginning. It is a time loop !

gutnbrg's is the Mega Man series. (Most have 8 robots, not 9, but anyway.)

I'm not sure about yours at the moment... unless it's Majora's Mask, I guess..

You take down the city's crime syndicate with your bare knuckles to the tune of one of the greatest video game sound tracks ever created.
