One thing that still bothers me every now and then is that NPC's in this game look so much more awesome than we can. Every single chest armor, every single robe, is exactly the same shape just with a different texture...
Look at Arthas' model in Culling. So much more is possible here. The cape draped around his shoulder looks so awesome. The only cloaks we have are just a square with the same texture copy pasted on both sides. With the last few expansions they've made some variations shape wise, some quite ridiculous, but there's still so much room for improvement.
Look at Khadgar's model. Now THAT is a battle mage. Despite him being a caster, he isn't simply wearing a dress. His armor is complex, with multiple layers of detail.
Look at Gul'dan. As a warlock of his power, he doesn't need much armor to protect him. He's wearing nothing but rags, adorned and decorated with several minor attachments such as chains hanging from his sides.
We have improved character models now, but the armor we dress up in still takes away from that. Shoulders look awesome most of the time, and they've definitely made improvements with belts and boots. But the most important part, chest armor, is still lacking.
Any chance we will ever get something better? Or is this just the limit of the engine?
