What if... its both in-game models with a bit of painting?

Maybe its a GW2 style cutscene/promotional material that uses artwork instead of 3D models. Forgot the term for the animation style.

Look at the collar and the armor highlights, you can literally see the strokes.

That’s what WoW textures look like. They’re hand painted with a tablet; brushstrokes are intentionally left in to get the “painterly” style.

It’s totally the updated Stormwind guard armor with the blue accents recolored green.

The Kul Tiras pic is likely one made using in game assets and worked on with after effects in photoshop/blender. People on Argent Dawn RP server do it a lot! I'll try see if I can find the pic amongst any well known artists.

Knowing some of these people, it's definitely possible but this is high quality work nonetheless. Props to the artist if it is really 3D.

Unless someone went trough the efforr of making a recolored SW armor set, a new Kul'Tiras tabard, new banana models (lol) only to make a shitty photo of all his effort with his phone

So a thing to note about that supposed leaked pic. All Kul'tiras marines in game so far use the old green version of the vanilla Stormwind armour, there is no 'green' version of the HD WoD guard armour.

BUT, something to keep in mind. Version of that armour exist on private servers. I have known people who played on a private RP server, and some people make patches with custom armour or textures, one such patches, someone created retextures of the HD guard armour

So it is technically possible someone could have either created their own re texture of the Stormwind armour for that photo, or had access to a patch or a private server with said patch. So there is a small chance to be fake.

BUT! Yes another but, that chance is so small.
What leads me to believe that pic has some validity is that tabard.

The main thing to take away is that anchor symbol. It is much higher rez and has a slightly different shape than the old standard kul'tiras anchor. No where does that new anchor symbol show up anywhere in the files. (Even that fan made armour up above uses the old anchor symbol)

SO it could still be super fake and someone put waaaay too much time and effort into setting it up, or it could be real. Who knows, we will find out tomorrow. Its fun to speculate either way
