    Allied Races Leveling Lore Issues

So, what happens when you're leveling a Nightborne and get to level 100 and head tot he Broken Isles. Everything in the story mentions discovering Suramar after all this time and this new tauren tribe. Likewise for Highmountain tauren, what happens when they get to the Broken Isles?

Nothing, we should know by now that levelling a new character is a massive time travel adventure at this point.

It happened. It is in the past. Leveling is just a mechanic when it comes to previous expansions.

This been a issue since BC lvl 20 Blood Elves and Space Goats travel back in time as well....

Well short answer is "Dont think about it" Long answer is, Past is the past just go with it. I believe while Jesse cox was playing a demo/Interview he brought up a Question about something similar and the answer was something along the lines "Yes we would like things like leveling to make sense since you go Deathwing Destroying the world, Dark portal reopening, Lich king come to kill us all, then back to Deathwing destroying the world its a question of Resources Do you want a expansion fast with lots of content, or old content updated and a slow content drought"

But I think with these two it was less of an issue. You don't go to Outland and discover those races. Blood Elves were always here and Draenei arrive. What happens when Thalyssra calls the player an "Outsider" when they're Nightborne? Come to think of it, I don't think it would be much of an issue for Highmountain Tauren. Nothing in the quests says they're outsiders. The quest text can be changed easily enough, but the voice files?

Allied races are sort of exclusive to people who have done the leveling routine before.

    Lore-breaking, yes.

But so is going from Cata to TBC/WotLK then back to Cata.

Allied races are planned to start in their respective faction's capital city. They begin at lvl20 so that they don't need a starting area.

As for the actual question, it's the same answer as to why Death Knights would be in Outland. It's old content and you're just performing a gameplay necessity to reach new content. There's no lore aspect to it.

you have to do a quest chain to unlock the races.

Those quest chains are not their "starting areas," nor will they provide a lore-accurate reason of why a Nightborne is fighting the Lich King on Northrend.

You'll be leveling for the sake of leveling. Not for the sake of the lore. Lore continues once you get past the race's expansion quests.
Same with Pandaren. Finish intro > go grind boars > go to Outland > go to Northrend > etc etc > go continue where the Pandaren intro left off.

Was typing my reply when you posted, but I guess that explains it pretty well aswell.

The production values of the quests have gone so far up nowadays that it isn't probably likely that they will change things to accommodate Allied races levelling. Consider killing Illidan in Black Temple as a Demon Hunter for example.. nothing changes.

The story of WoW has a canon which only works when viewed from the point of view of contemporary characters doing content suitable to them. Further underlined every time VA implementation gets more entrenched.

    Don't think about it.
