And of course, FOX News decided to spin the result in wait what?

Fox News's Brit Hume is criticizing President Trump's response to Republicans losing the Virginia governor's race.

"Trump at his worst. Everything is always about him," Hume tweeted.

Hmm. Three stories about the election from last year -- one of which is Bannon sucking his own cock -- and a dismissal of last night's loss as "draining the swamp".

I guess I should have expected nothing less than flat-out denial.
Why am I not surprised they have an ad that is false asking if CNN is fake news or that Curt Schilling works for Breitbart? Especially after his racist remarks?

Yet the left wing is trying to spin a few good wins as some kind of historic night for a couple of State house seats and governors. The real election was last year and next year, lets see if the anyone but Trump strategy continues to pay off.

Quoting this from the locked thread because it irked me:

I assume this is just more regurgitation of conservative talking points, ala Trump's "lost an election he should've won! SAD!" he throws at literally everyone that loses regardless of any actual data. But Ossoff was a complete unknown in a district that hasn't been blue since 1979, a district that typically doesn't even run a Democrat challenger because the Republican has always won with 70%~ of the vote - and all the same, Ossoff ended within a 3% margin. Maybe it takes a Georgian to understand that even this result was like a blizzard in the middle of July in Florida.

On topic, these are a good sign, but I'm still skeptical about democrats in national elections. There's the hope that 2016 scared democrats into finally showing up to vote, but as an eternal pessimist I have my doubts that that will remain the case.

To be fair both sides say this all the time.

The funny thing is republicans saying this always pick a place to immigrate to which is most progressive than the US.

They will lose massively in 2018, Trump is like radiation.

    DSA is surging.

Congratulations Democrats, on winning in states full of Democrats. I knew you could do it! Nothing can hold you back now. Soon there will be sweeping Democrat victories in places like California, and New York. The sky is the limit!

That’s bizarre logic... go fucking live in Mexico and tell me US is declining then. Go to fucking Russia, where retirement age is 65, but the male life expectancy is 64... where people blow up a pipeline, just so their ‘village’ can get jobs. I’ll stay in US... with a booming economy, low unemployment and the freedom to succeed if that is my will.
Once again, you are only capable of thinking in extremes. I won't go down that climate change debate, it is moronic.

No, America does not suck. It is on it's way doing that though. I see no hope from Democratic and Republican parties. Republicans have no idea how to unfuck the mess and Democrats, just like most lefties, know how to identify the problem but their cure makes the patient only more ill.

To say that, you'd need to ignore the many state seats they flipped from repubs. FLipping state seats is every bit as important when the 2020 census hits.

What policies does the GOP have aside from hating the middle and poor class?

This isn't really true. We've got a system that is increasingly concentrating wealth. If wealthy people don't have stuff to spend money on, they invest it. Which drives stock prices to deviate from what was once considered the norm with respect to dividends paid.

So in a good economy, you can now expect stock prices to bubble way higher than they would have in the early 80s before piss on you economics gained major traction in one political party.

Did you deliver the same kind of sarcasm when Republicans hailed their victories in the special elections as the best thing since sliced bread?

The only policy democrats have is health care for all and immediate amnesty. Normally, those two don't have a majority traction, but with Trump in charge of WH, who cares?

Which is why I find it bewildering that the republicans are now arguing that they need a "win" on their tax plan to have a hope in the midterms. So.... they need to cut taxes on the wealthy and make the middle class and poor pay for it, in order to win over the votes of the poor and middle class in the mid terms? How does that work???
