The delay of Before the Storm novel could be a clever way of delay the next Expansion because the novel it's one of the key connection for BoA story.
But what do you think guys? Conspiracy? Or just a unexpected delay?

How are they delaying something that has no announced launch date?

Delayed? By what standards? BfA will release in Q4/18. There's nothing "delayed", it was pretty obvious that we won't get BfA in Q2. Q3 was likely as well but that's pretty much not going to happen anymore.
War Crimes was released 6 months before WoD
Illidan was released 4.5 months before Legion
Before the Storm will be released in June resulting in a BfA release date sometimes in Q4/18.
MAGA - Make Alliance Great Again
True and good point, but they bought more time for don't reveal the lauch date
The fact that Ion said that they are hoping to release BfA by the end of 2018 with beta starting early next year is pretty binding. He wouldn't have said that if he didn't believe so (that means all goals are set for that date), so come hell or high water, BfA is coming in no more than 1 year.
I think they fixed their mistake from the front page..
Quoted from the front page:
"WoWChakra Interviews Shani Edwards and Ray Cobo
WoWChakra sat down with two of WoW’s game producers.
The Artifact Weapon sendoff will take place just before the expansion.
There are some preliminary requirements to starting the quest chains for Allied races - such as getting exalted with highmountain tauren before you can proceed.
There might be some story for the Void Elves in 7.3.5.
The alliance will get to experience an epic story involving Jaina and where she has been.
Jaina will have some family problems in the expansion.
”Sneaky Pete” is a rogue Island AI character that likes to wait until you engage mobs to attack you. He is a jerk.
The team is hoping to start beta early next year.
The goal is to have Battle for Azeroth launched in 2018."
Found the video, and it was Ray Cobo, and he says "beta early next year, and the goal is to get BfA out into players hands in 2018".

I doubt they would delay the expansion just because the author of a book that only a fraction of the playerbase will ever consider reading does not mean the timeline
I understand that, but quoting him as saying "by the end of 2018" has whipped everyone into a frenzy about how there is going to be a year of Antoris already.
I know it got fixed, but it was there long enough for the word to spread about it.
Now there are people spreading it like that is an actual quote, and reasoning for why it will be a year before the expansion.... and it was never said.
