This is Trumpism to the next logical step they don't care about the charges or what he stands for he is just their guy. Roy Moore was a despicable piece of shit even before they found out he was a pedophile and he was leading by double digits.

So it looks like if a write in causes neither candidate to get a majority, there will be another election 6 weeks later without a write in potential.
Damn. It would be interesting if Jones got the most votes, but didn't get a "majority" (which I'm assuming is 50%+1). Might be how AL will run it.

Ironically the other day in a focus group a Trump supporter said that "If Jesus came down and told me Trump was lying, I would have to ask Trump first". That's how far the rabbit hole we have gone.

I think Moore will win. Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of Alabama.

I'm going to put my faith in the people of Alabama not to vote for the child predator, but I fear my faith may be misplaced.

What scares me is that it has nothing to do with intelligence. The people voting for Moore aren't doing so because they're stupid, they know exactly what they're doing. It's a question of morality, or lack thereof. They are outright stating that the molestation of children is an acceptable sacrifice to keep a specific political party in power.

Who will the deep red state of Alabama vote for? A democrat or a child predator?

I'll gladly be wrong, but I don't have faith they will make the right decision.

I think half of the reason I said "Doug Jones would win" earlier in this thread is because I don't want to face the fact that there are enough morons to put a freaking pedophile in office.

But . . . this is the country that elected Trump. And this is how 2017 has been going . . .

If it was any other state I'd say Jones, but it's Alabama so I'm gonna go with Moore. And I don't even think it'll be close sadly.

Republican candidate will probably win. Election day will come around, and all the apathetic viewers who really don't care about the situation either way will walk into the booth and vote down ballot, and the sheer volume of die hard Republican supporters will overwhelm it while all the conservatives who actually care choosing to opt out. I do think it will be the closest race Alabama will have had in decades, though.

There is no down ballot. It's a special election, this race is the only thing on the ballot

Counting on Republicans to do the right thing is like betting to win with a fake lottery ticket.

So yeah, Roy Moore will most probably win.

Moore, because nothing is more important to these people than tribalism.

If he wins he should rape a 14 year old girl over the podium as his acceptance speech. I mean, since apparently everyone there is fine with it.

But seriously, I've long since stopped attempting to apply logic to the outcome of US elections. Anywhere else this guy would be soooooooo shitcanned by now. Anything could happen.

I wouldn't lay money on it, victories for write-in candidates are very rare and generally happen under unusual circumstances.

Moore will win. Because politics has become such a sports event in America that people will stick with "their team" no matter what happens. Apparently there have been a lot more write-in votes this year than normal. My conjecture is that it's people voting for Moore because he's the Republican candidate and too ashamed to show their faces while doing so.

There is a man who repeatedly committed sexual assault in the Oval Office. I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised that a child molester is running a very close race with a seemingly decent human being.

This is why Hillary lost. You coastal elites do not listen to what middle America wants. You just come in with your stereotypes and insults. Were any of the women Moore approached his cousin? Didn’t think so!
