Pandaren wouldn't really make sense as druids, considering pandaren religion and culture is shamanic and based on Eastern mythology.

And from a visual standpoint, their animal forms probably wouldn't look terribly unique... Just cats and bears colored like pandas, maybe with some Asian jewelry thrown on. Not interesting.

Monday morning we will yell at the design dudes. Pandaria was not there during the Sundering so I guess Cenarion was not there teaching them. I still think druids are out, that might change though.

Druids are Night Elves or Tauren. IMO I don't think they should even allow Worgen. I'm happy Druid is not playable as Pandaren.

They wanted additional options for Druid races in Cata, so they did decide to add the two races that had the closest chance to become druids, not a guaranteed chance, but enough to justify the addition. Now, the decision to finally add Pandaren came later, if I understood it correctly shortly after Cata's release - if they had decided on that earlier, maybe we would've seen Pandaren druids, but I still doubt it. Pandaren are, as mentioned, more shamanistic than druidic, and they had virtually no contact with the Night Elves after their druids kicked off. For Non-Pandaren monks... well, they couldn't give that class to just one race, so the explanation will be along the lines that those are new trainees (well, every new character is actually a "newbie" anyway) but they can't use that for every race/class combination.

Well you don't have to be thin to be a rogue, you just have to be able to move fast and silently in the shadows... and Taurens and Draenei can't do that.

I was thinking druid was the second most pandarenish class after monk. I mean seriously, if bearform is the problem why not make it like;
[Guardian Shapeshift: You take a ferocious stance on four legs increasing your defensive traits and allowing you you draw more attention]

I guess everyone could see a difference in a standing panda and panda running on 4 legs. As for "cat" form it could just be a Chinese tiger. Nothing drastic compared to a cow turning into a cat.

I mean, Blizzard gives us undead monks but won't allow panda druid just because it would need a bit more work. And even there you could just use already in game skins.

Pandaria wasn't around at the sundering, so Cenarius couldn't teach them. But knowning blizzard if they want to do it they will just got and retcon some stuff.

Here's the easy solution. With worgen they brought back running wild (plainstriding) which essentially places the worgen on all fours with equipment showing... There's your bear form. As far as cat, being that the expac has an Asian flair Bengal Tiger would be an excellent choice and they already have the basic model in the game (thing old ZG mount). Travel form could remain the same as it is on all races, along with aquatic, this only leaves flight form. The Chinese zodiac has dragon on it, and what I'd suggest is a modified (larger) version of the celestial dragon (different color).

And if Blizz just wants to add another race that is already in the game.. Try BE... It's either The Bot or Mech that has a BE druid boss in it already, and since BC no-less.

lol i'd rather have Belf druids over pandaran, the problem is that they would have to give ally another race to be druid... like human, they'd have to make 2 new sets of models, which i doubt they will do.
