    Angry Computer case Dented!

Today I received my Corsair Vengeance 8gb and Thermaltake A60 case, and unfortunetly the case side panel was
dented. The box was broken, seems like UPS messed up!

I actually saw the UPS guy throw the box to his buddy, and the box hit the ground. I had to return it and hopefully the
    next one won't be dented.

Why I always pay the little bit extra to get shipping insurance. Saved me a world of hurt a few times.

Some delivery guys left my SSD's($1400 worth) I ordered out in front of my door when I wasn't around to pick them up. Lest to say someone stole them before I got home; noticed that the status of my order was "delivered" and phoned them. They tried to pawn it off saying that it had been delivered to the door. I told them I had not signed off on it and had not received the parcel, therefore they are liable. They kept giving me the loop of BS.

Contacted a lawyer and presented them with a letter for legal action if they did not replace them in a prompt fashion. Got a call a few hours later saying they had contacted NCIX and would be express shipping them to me in two days time. Never using them again, sticking to Purolator from here out.

    Edit- UPS btw.

We've had similar situations arise with items being delivered by UPS. One order was so badly handled I had three dented cases, one case had a crack along the front panel, and one had the side panel partially hanging off.

Dang! I never really liked UPS, I had bad experience with them. I like Fedex more! But yeah, I like Amazon.com return Policies! They
immediately order a new one, and I will get it on Friday! Even before I send them the damaged one (Although I already did). I wonder ifNewegg is the same?

I'm from Canada so I order everything from NCIX(they price match pretty much anyone), they have impressed me time and time again.

I hate shipping stuff in general. Last January I ordered a new CPU heatsink for my old computer and it was delivered to my door around 7pm that night while I was raiding, I stayed up all night and around 5am I checked the shipping information and it said it was delivered on my front doorstep... I go and look.... there, having sat out in SUB ZERO temperatures was the little box. -.-

Screws broke from becoming brittle or something like that.

When you order something have a tracking number and fail to check where it is or if its on time and let it sit on your porch id say that is your problem not the shipping companies.

I work for the claims department at my work and deal with couriers daily for damages / lost packages etc.

My advice would be to contact the company you bought it from (newegg or whomever) and have them initiate a damage claim with UPS , or if it is only the side panel that is dented see if they have a replacement from an RMA'd unit that they can send you

Yeah except, I signed up to have a text when it arrived, no text, AND I was very near the front door when it was delivered, no knock.

    Assume more crap, dude.

What assumption? Assuming you dont check every so often? No that was not an assumption because you said you just sat raiding and had no bother to check. Text's are nice but let us be realistic even on the best provider the occasional text can be lost did that happen probably not. Basically like a mail man it is your job to check for your mail. Day of arrival i check periodically for delivery saying i didnt here the large brown truck pull up to my home.

Honestly, no, I didn't hear it. My house is far enough away from the street you don't hear most of the cars. It was only 7pm, and I was not expecting it to come during the evening, anyways. Typically we get packages delivered during the mid day. And besides, why should I have to check if I, and my parents and sister, and two dogs who would be barking up a storm, didn't hear any knock at the door? You're still assuming things and it's not exactly something I appreciate, either.

As a matter of fact, a friend had ordered some stuff for me back around my bday (in July), another WoW player, and when it was delivered she forwarded me the text she received saying it had been delivered, even though we did get to the door and it was delivered around noon, it was nice the guy knocked, the text was sent, and all was jolly.

Delivery people should take some care, especially during the colder days in the winter, like the one I had where it was below 0 degrees F to make sure the people in the house know there was a damned delivery, is that so much to ask? Good God. If I pay for delivery, I'm also paying to know when it is delivered.

I've had a parcel delivered when i wasn't at home (it was a day later than they said it would be delivered and i'd taken the day off), so they'd signed for it and left it on my doorstep saying it had been signed for by a Mr B. Wood... I'd come home at dinner time and luckily saw it, however being a bit pissed at the courier for signing it themselves, I called the company and asked where my parcel was.. Obviously they said I'd signed for it, told them there was no one in the area i live in called Mr B. Wood and then proceeded to explain that the area i live in is called "Boyatt Wood"... So they sent out a replacement parcel (it was a gaming PC) and sued the courier for lying...

As the courier was sued, i didn't need to inform them that i'd got the gaming PC safely, so ended up with 2 and sold it to a friend at a discount so that my one didn't cost full price!!

This is the reason why i always go pick up stuff myself from the company i buy computerstuff. Altho that's not 100% safe either, we bought a case from verkkokauppa.com (finnish company) and the case had a broken fan once we got to open the box. Also yes i drove carefully and i handled the box very carefully, since i didn't buy it, i was just the driver. We returned the case and we got a new one immediatly.
