I'm currently playing with a Rogue, which is fun, but the margin of error is so low.
One or two messed up CCs and it's over, as a Hunter cannot regain his health, not that easy.
So anyone tried Hunter + Healer in season 11 up to 2.2k rating, or lets say even 2k rating would be enough?
I'm looking for some advice:
- which healer?
- is it viable? can you kill other dps + healer with this combo?
- fun or utterly frustrating?
I checked the 2v2 rankings on various battlegroups, and hunter + healer seems to be very rare. If I could find one, then it was mostly with a disc priest.

Hunters are too easily countered when they are the only dps. It used to work when you viper string or chain very long CC chains with a druid, but now the setup is not anywhere close to being competitive. Not sure if competitive applies to the 2v2 bracket though....

I'd think that priest would be the only good healer to go with the hunter now a days due to aoe fear to help with chaining some cc and the priest's mana burn.

Dont waste your time.. Dont do it, 2vs2 isnt the bracket for hunters, you should try 3vs3 tho, you will have way more fun there.

On the Emberstorm battlegroup there is a Disc + MM Hunter team, they are ranked 3rd with stats of 42-1 (?!). All 43 games played by these two.

When I see this, it makes me think that it's viable... I guess I'll give it a try.
I'm just wondering what their strategy is...

2v2 is a good bracket for hunters, but only with 2 dps. Feral/hunter is very good and feral/rogue and feral/ret work well too. Originally Posted by Syegfried

for the love of god dont go with a healer has a hunter xD, grab a feral or a retri, it works pretty nicely, the only healer has statet above, only disc, but man dont do that :P

Druid is your best shot since the druid complement a hunter quite well with his utility, trap+cyclone spam+bash CC chain for example. FF for some armor penetration(more damage from the hunter), roots, roar for speed boost etc. If you can get some pve gear your damage should be sufficiant but you will have some frustrating games for sure... gl trying to kill a holy paladin for example :P
Druids are pretty weak as well. I've played 2s with hunters and it an be pretty fun and it can be pretty frustrating. Should deffo be able to get +2k rating if you are good enough though.The nerve is called the "nerve of awareness". You cant dissect it. Its a current that runs up the center of your spine. I dont know if any of you have sat down, crossed your legs, smoked DMT, and watch what happens... but what happens to me is this big thing goes RRRRRRRRRAAAAAWWW! up my spine and flashes in my brain... well apparently thats whats going to happen if I do this stuff...

Hunter and Disc is really strong. I ran it 35-5 to 1900ish last season, but it was just for points cap, wasn't serious or anything. My hunter and my Disc Priest got Duelist last season to give you an idea what skill level we're at.
It's a really good counter to all those Frost DK-Holy Pally and Rogue-Mage running around and we just farmed them. We land kills quite fast if the kill target doesn't pillar hump.

Well the Frost DKs think they can solo me (Disc) and I just stand in the open, giving my hunter LoS at the DK and a free Frost Trap on the Holy Pally when he has to heal. I would move to the Holy Pally to land a Fear after to set up a CC chain. Originally Posted by skrikspya

Do this twice when the Holy Pally used his bubble and trinket and it's gg. You do need some burst from the Disc Priest and it's the only healer that can provide some decent damage plus Mana Burn for those potential long games although we mostly just chain Trap and Fear and go for kills instead.
This was last season though, I imagine we would lose Mana Burn wars vs. Rogue-Disc.

and nah OP don't run with a healer, it's gonna suck. Stick with the rogue or get a feral, and burst HARD when you get out of stealth. It's true you can't heal, you have to kite. You and your partner are gonna have to coordinate cc well.

I pref not going healer/hunter, its almost as pitiful as ele sham/healer.

Here's one thing you need to remember. Glad level players can take anything and be at or near the top. The above average player cannot. You will be in for excruciating games where you sit around being pillared while their healer catches up after a CC chain. For a few seasons one of the top 2's team on one of my BG's was a Boomkin Fire Mage team... does that make that comp amazing???? Nope it makes those players amazing. Originally Posted by joepesci
Also Priests get destroyed by most Meleecleaves. There are quite a few decent double melee 2's comps that will give him nightmares. You won't have enough peels and you aren't able to reset enough to keep him safe.
If you want to play a Hunter in 2's just find a Rogue, DK or Feral and maybe a Warrior too. Healer 2's is terrible in and of itself don't make it worse on yourself and others. I've faced a couple Hunter healer teams in the 1800+ and both were duelist level players and both got completely stomped.

I am on emberstorm and can vouch that it is the worste bracket and people keyboard turn at all ratings and most people don't even gem right. Originally Posted by joepesci
