Well it seems to be ICC style so thats fine with me.

This 'buff' will start 9 weeks after the release of the instance, 8 weeks on having heroic modes available. The buff, datamined by wowhead goes to 35% (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=109257).
If this increases at the same pace of the ICC buff, it will be July 17th when the 35% buff will go live.
So, if we can use their previous pace and behaviour as a guide (we can't, without knowing what the pace this buff will actually roll out at, and they're not bound by their past schedules), it feels unlikely that we'll be seeing 5.0 before September and, if they release 5.0 two months before the expansion, as they did at the end of Wrath (4.0.1 went live 12 October 2010, Cataclysm released on 7 December 2010), then November does look to be the MoP release.
Personally, I'm rather disappointed. I had hoped that Cataclysm, with all it's reduced content would have an 18 month life cycle. An extra six months... I hope this speculation is wrong.
The point of nerfs is to keep everyone progressing through the content. Whether it's a super casual guild that's stuck on Madness normal, or a hardcore guild stuck on Spine heroic, they will all eventually give up if they can't progress, and people who give up are more likely to cancel their subscription. Some people and guilds are more resilient than others, but eventually almost everyone gives up. Guilds even die because a fight is too hard sometimes.
More people who cant read......if you dont want to nerf turn it off. Its that simple not a single one of you have a reason to complain about this what so ever.
That's not what everybody is crying about. The issue is that it's easier for other guilds, and it destroys the level of prestige other guilds get for their progression, when some no name scrub guild that was never able to accomplish 1/7 Heroic in FL is able to accomplish 7/8 Heroic with this buff. The other thing is that you can't turn it off if you're actually progressing, because then you're only hurting yourself and you'll fall behind in the server first race. The place is already a joke as it is, it doesn't need this buff, and like it's been stated, the casuals get LFR why gimp the heroic mode raiders with this buff? This raid is no where near as difficult as ICC ever was. In fact, 30% buff ICC was harder than this.
To all you whiners here... read the blue post thoroughly... you can turn the increasing nerf >>> OFF <<< by talking to Lord Afrasastrasz. They just cater to the masses (like they have been for a very long time!). For the 0,5% of you who actually clear DS on hc mode week after week, it changes nothing for you.
Casuals like being called 'bad' by blizzard...
Blizzard nerfing the content when there is no need to nerf it (global buffing/nerfing) is them saying "the majority of players suck, so here you go" and you guys are happy with being called bad.
-Wowhead user on the Lion Horn of Stormwind, an epic from the era of so-called "EPIC" epics. Now, THIS thing? THIS thing is horrible. It's just awful. It was awful at 60 and it was awful at 58. It's awful at 45. If this dropped off a mob in Wailing Caverns when you were level 17 and being run through by a higher level character, you would equip it ONLY because you don't have trinkets at that level, and it would STILL SUCK.
World top 100 will be set in stone by then. For those guilds, congratulations, farming it will get easier and easier for you until MoP.
For the guilds that are working on a hard boss, the small, gradual nerfs should be able to push you over without it feeling so trivial.
For the guilds stuck on a boss that is considered "easy" by the majority of raiders, you will now be able to clear more.
This is a good thing, IMO. Obviously, some guilds are more skilled then others. Some will be stuck at 1/8 H for the rest of the expansion without this. Some solid guilds that are 2-3/8 H will be stuck at 6/8 H for the rest of the expansion without this. Raiding guilds that are stuck are unhappy and that is bad for them and for Blizzard.
If your not good enough to be downing HM bosses without the buff then you shouldnt be raiding HARDMODE CONTENT
And even as it is, the first hardmode boss you run into that actually has some difficult mechanics and that make it hard on anything but healers is Hagara
Spine on the other hand is just poorly designed "lets give tendons a lot of hp"
At the end of the day, people complaining about it wont change anything.
In a so-called "competition" you have already lost. "Competition" in WoW meant for top100 guilds for first month as maximum or if you have problems with roster in a way that you have to use rating of your guild for more recruitment.
But you know, if you want some fights to become harder, you can wear your t12 and go ahead into DS hc. Not hard enough? Use t11/blues.
If you "have to" use "easier" modes for "competition", I guess if you were given an option to use or not some obvious gamebreaking exploit to gain advantage in "competition", you'd use it.
Many people, however, play for fun and for other goals than being on some e-sport ladder (which, slowly, made it in obscene form into PvE, with "hardcore" being used as positive term, though usually going hand by hand with very dubious, often breaking EULA/TOC, things) - nothing is really gamebreaking here for them, it is an option, not a global nerf.
TL DR: Absolutely nothing was changed in it's essence, but an option was added. If you don't like optional buff, don't use it and don't make stupid reasons why you "have to" use it because you don't have to.
just turn off the debuff if you stil want the challenge and feel your cheated with an easier encounter.
that said i am quite happy to have "farm nights" go quicker when it's the less enjoyable or fun/patchwerk fights.
also if this applies to trash -> trash is boring or insanely annoying in dragon soul -> skyrim dragons who NEVER Land properly for melle.
for me, this is just a "we'll end this soon, so every1 can see the content and we can start MoP!" <3 no probs with it
You're right, the real reason is that most of those everybody are elitist douches who should get a life.
The fact that some guilds think they have some sort of prestige is already sad. I'm totally sure that 1/7 hc FL turns into 7/8hc clear with this 5% buff. Yes, your logic is spotless. /facepalm
So in the end you don't care about the challenge, you just try to succeed in a computer game to feel at least some accomplishment in your life in the form of killing pixels before someone else. /clap
If it was a joke as it is, there would be ton of guilds who cleared it. Yet even some guilds like Ensidia have troubles in the end. So no, no joke. This buff has nothing to do with casuals. You can't be stupid enough to believe that casuals will move from LFR to HC just becaus of tthis 5% buff? Seriously?
Wouldn't say that, I progressed faster in ICC than I have in DS.
