Only $10 on Steam right now, been on the fence for awhile about this series. I really like RPG's with a good bit a freedom in the game play.
Soooo, yay or nay, convince me or turn me away from it. What did you like or dislike about it?

The Witcher has a great story, I've been playing the Witcher 2 and my only problems with it is that it's much harder than I'm used to in RPGs, which isn't neccessarily a bad thing, and the shadows have some pretty ugly textures. Other than that it's awesome, you can also just jump into the second if you want, it has an introduction that explains everything.
Never played it myself, a good friend thinks it's one of the best RPG's he's played.
$10 isn't a bad risk on a game, frankly.
Me subjectively? Nay, biggest nay ever, goes for both 1 and 2.
Me objectively? Yay, heard that the game is much better than what I have experienced, goes for both 1 and 2.
The Witcher 1 and 2 are both great games, I have played and beat them both. Well worth the steam discount price, you won't be disappointed.
Awesome, thanks for the reply's.

Witcher is well worth it, 1 & 2 are fantastic games that break the stagnating mold many RPG's are in.
Both games are really awesome. I sadly can't run the Witcher 2 very well to play it comfortably, but I got a lot of entertainment out of the first game. You should definitely pick it up. It's a breath of fresh air.
The Witcher 2 has boobies in the beginning. Can't go wrong with boobies OP
The Witcher 1 and the books - yay. Witcher 2 nay, they changed too much an the new combat is duoer annoying!
Amazing sig, done by mighty Lokann
Both witchers are EXCELLENT games. The Witcher 2 has had some of the most memorable moments in pc gaming.

Definitely a Yay.
Biggest problem in the first one is the combat they use. At least for me it is, I hated it. But the rest of the game made up for that.
I hope you enjoy it! I'd put it and the Witcher 2 as the best RPGs I've ever played.
I give it a big Yay. I was introduced into the series when I bought The Witcher 2 when it came out earlier last year, and it was a fantastic game with a beautiful story. The gameplay isn't so really so much "difficult" but just has a very steep learning curve. You'll get your shit rocked in the beginning most likely, but once you learn how to play, even the hardest difficulty isn't much of a challenge.
I bought the first game last December, and while I didn't enjoy the story or combat as much as I did the second one, it was still a great game. The combat is very unique and nothing like the second game, and that said, it is also a lot easier IMO. It's basically based on using one of 3 sword stances and chaining attacks together to make combos... so you just need to understand the weakness of your enemy and they fall over.
It really doesn't matter if you buy the first or second one first because the stories stand on their own perfectly well. If you get the second one first, all you're missing out on is the first person experience of events that are mentioned from time to time.
Go for it and when you are playing Witcher 1, fight with swords, dont invest in Ign, it kinda ruined my late game, because everything was almost one shotted with that spell :-D
The Witcher 1? Yes
The Witcher 2? I've never played it yet.
Power?!?! I'll show you POWER!!!
Can anybody link me The Witcher on Steam? I can't see it on sale on my storepage.
