Also... he needs to shift some of his crit to mastery (especially if he is actually doing the MS/MB thing), since he has so much haste he can easily drop the haste enchants on the boots and gloves for mastery/lavawalker.
If you have a good shadow priest in your guild I would have them talk to him too... my guess is that he has a grasp on some basics but might not get the finer bits. I mean none of that is horrible... but it's not particularly good either.
