Spent my whole weekend moving to an addition I put in the house, finally have a bigger room for my home office/gaming/etc stuff. Ended up buying a 55" 4K TV as well, was looking at a Samsung one for $899 then saw a nice Sony Bravia XBR X850C for $1500 and I gotta say is was worth the upgrade. Loved the OLED TV's I was looking at but I didn't have 3k+ to drop right now along with the desks and everything else I had to buy. So happy I dropped my 32" TV for this as movies and anime is amazing on this along with hooking up my studio monitors up to the TV through my DAC/AMP.

Good thing about the X850C is that it accepts both 1920x1080@120@4:4:4 and 3840x2160@60@4:4:4 as input. It's a great 10bit panel with decent P3 coverage, but it doesn't have HDR right?

Has HDR as well, it was the main reason I ended up going with it because I got to see a side by side of the 2015 and 2016 and it looked really good. I know HDR content is limited but I can't wait for more! Also I made a mistake it's the 850D lol, C is last years model.

Now it makes sense, the 850C doesn't have HDR and would be a somewhat bad purchase since they've finished the new standard and it has HDR10. The 850D does have it though =p

After 5 minutes inside windows with the iGPU I decided to restart with the cable back at the card... And it worked just fine lol.

Guess the PSU just went weird at the first time and the graphic's card responded as weirdly. They're sensitive and this PSU is arguably shit.

It only works on key words that have related news though. So if the stuff you search doesn't have any related ones it just doesn't show up.

Well I need to look into a decent home audio system for my TV, couldn't get my TV to play nice with my DAC so I could play through my studio monitors. Only way I got sound was when I hooked the Audio out to RCA cable to my AMP directly but I don't want to be swapping cables all the time. I'll need a AV Receiver and some speakers but I'll have to wait a bit.

I was at NY Tech Day today and Ghostery had a booth. I was too busy to talk to them but I did grab like this ghost shaped stress ball squeezy thing. It's pretty cool.

(For me, Ghostery is as god tier as Adblock.) I wanted to ask if donations actually amount to much for them.

Ended up with a free i5-6600/Asus Z170-A//16GB/500W EVGA PSU/NZXT Phantom 410 all new for free from work. Long story short a customer needed a custom PC that day, I had a spare server machine at home that footed the bill so I gave it to my boss and I got all the parts we ordered for the guy. The machine I had sitting here was all new stuff that I got back from warranties etc. it was a i5-4460/16GB/Asrock board etc. Still not a bad trade up considering I spent 150 for that first machine and ended up with this. Now the question remains do I sell it or use it for something?

Returning my Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro L IS USM lens and going to get this...

My APS-C Sigma lens being 18-35mm.

This new 24-70 is equatable to 38.4-112mm.

Then my 70-300mm lens is equatable to 112-480mm.

That's quite a range! Also, good timing, for the 5k marathon I'm going to be shooting next Sunday.

Hello all. So my wifes laptop bit the dust and we need to buy her a new one. We live in Australia and are limited to a budget of $1000 or less. We are looking at a couple different ones. The choices so far are:
