    SK Inferno killed already ?

CARE SPOILERS - BOSSES' NAMES DISPLAYED

    http://www.methodwow.com/board/conte...D3-CE-Giveaway

For those who just want the quote :
16/05 13:00 Update: Skeleton King (Inferno) [...] Kill Videos added!

After what the devs promised I feel a bit upset ...
I was expecting at least a week of farming in Hell before getting past SK.

    Thoughts ?

(This is NOT a post about how easy the game is or isn't, but about what the devs promised for Inferno. I know this is only the first boss but still ... Try to be insightful when arguing.)

You want thoughts? here is my thought:

3 months of full beta access can do wonders in any game.

Write me agian when YOU did it.

I don't believe anyone but the devs had access to Inferno mode.

And I'm not comparing myself to hardcore (in the real way, not SC/HC) gamers. Still seems very early, considering even with boosts (players looting for them in Hell mode, which is probably the case), they can't be Hell-optimized yet.

    ?

was there a private beta where the full game was playable or something? i dont see how a few months of killing normal skeleton king at level 14 could change much

    This isn't Vanilla WoW.

    That's all I'm saying...

You can learn most of the abilities and get your timing perfect by doing this. You can also gimp yourself (naked level 1) intentionally to up the difficulty. It isn't quite the same as doing it on inferno, but it certainly helps. It's similar to doing normal mode bosses in wow to get you ready for it's heroic counterpart. High end guilds practice the normal modes when they're available on PTR just to get more exposure to the mechanics.

But I think the health levels were significantly lower than what was expected. Could be wrong but I remember seeing some estimations putting SK's health way higher than what you see in the video.

Skeleton King is the first real boss of the game, as far as I am aware. Unless he has changed since I fought him in the Beta, I can tell you that his mechanics are very barebones (Pun intended), I am not surprised to see him go down rather easily.

I am surprised at the fact that they got to the point where they could defeat him so quickly however, on that point I am in agreement with the OP. Having not treaded beyond Skeleton King, I don't know which bosses are coming up, but I would hope they pose more of a challenge.

Well Inferno still increases in difficulty from act to act so there's still a lot to come.

SK is only 1/3rd of act 1...so yeah....no big deal just yet.

I'll be impressed when someone solos it.

Kripp did a video in Beta of him beating it (SK) on a very low level unarmored barbarian. It took him like 25mins but he only got hit twice the whole time.

So yes its perfectly possible to practice in normal beta for Inferno if boss abilities remain unchanged.

As you progress trough inferno and monsters keep outlevling you more and more i guess it will be pretty pain in act 4

The Devs promised Act 3 and 4 in Inferno would be the real challenge points.

Inferno is essentially set up as a 3 tier progression. Act 1 is tier 1, Act 2 is tier 2 and Act3/4 is tier 3. It's not entirely surprising that people may be clearing through the first Act of Inferno in short order. If Act 3 and 4 go down really fast then you can feel like you lied to.

He didn't enrage in the video. I am pretty sure that Blizzard said the Skeleton King should enrage after 4 minutes and spawn 3 times the amound of Skeletons.

Did they change it or is it buggy? I wouldn't be suprised if it was the latter.

If I'm not mistaken that was a hypothetical example. Not for sure what would happen.

What you didn't see was how the group even GOT to the skeleton king.

They used their mage to sneak past the mobs because they couldn't handle any of the named elite mobs on the way. After a lot of sneaking through and teleporting to buddies, they made it to the Skeleton King. They can beat the SK because there are no new mechanics from Normal mode on Inferno. I'd like to see a group of people actually get through the dungeon without exploiting and skipping the hard groups to get to the easy, same-as-normal-scripted sub-boss.

I agree with this, I want to see someone do it the "right way". Pretty much all the people who are playing inferno are doing this tho and the ones who get unlucky and have to actually fight the trash mobs, wipe numerous times. But the real issue is if you are completing for worlds first inferno or whatnot you pretty much have to do it this way to stand a snowballs chance in hell of making it before anyone else. Im just enjoying the game right now just hit level 20 this afternoon before i had to go to work and its awesome so far!

yeah, in order to get there first skipping the trash is the way to go. I don't get the thrill out of world first diablo boss kills though. It's no like diabloprogress.com is tracking the world first guilds and players.

And I agree, I'm playing to have fun. Level 16 on normal on my first toon still, not in any rush at all.
