Don't American Football referees/umpires have half a dozen camera angles they can look at if a decision is appealed?

no calls shouldn't be reversed after game, even if mlb umps are have extremely bad this year.... and why not just search the team or player... not just "football"

replay for baseball only applies to home runs, football they have 3 challenges, and after a certain time in the game, booth reviews happen.. if something is missed on the field and each scoring play... thankfully soccer doesn't have replay... all the players would have red cards for diving..

Yeah, but bodies frequently get in the way of the best angle (needs video game camera capability :P ), and coaches are limited to the number of challenges they can make. College football calls are all made from the booth, so pretty much any questionable call is reviewed.
Which is why football is a farce of diving little bitches to try and get penalty kicks, I support technology in football simply because it would mean that they would play matches and not fall down like a sack of shit every time another player so much as looks at the oppositions feet. High level football atm is a complete joke when players blatantly dive as soon as they receive a light tackle or someone touches their jersey and fuck me as soon as they get into the penalty box they are looking for anyone to touch them so they can drop like they have just been shot. It frustrates me to no end that these people don't get carded straight away but in-fact get rewarded for their acting lessons.
I don't think there's any reasonable way to reverse decisions after the fact on a game, you can't say how things would have been had they not gone the way they did... however I do think that there should be after-the-fact penalties for things like diving and cheap shots that got missed. I wouldn't mind seeing a few players pay out a couple hundred thousand dollars when cameras catch them doing blatantly unsportsmanlike behavior that the refs missed, even if you can't overturn the game results.
I read this whole thing thinking of Vinny Jones' character on Eurotrip. =D
IMO if you can't make the call right then, the call isn't legit. Remove the human element from sports and reffing and we may as well watch the computer play itself in a game of Pong.
This is why I don't like American football. 30 seconds of actual game to 5 minutes of replays and debates.
No, you cannot go back and change anything because it makes the rest of the event arbitrary.
They take everything else in sports SOOO seriously, and yet we still have imperfect humans making super close calls? I'm convinced there is some internal force in sports that maintains the human officials. There isn't a single decent excuse that these super sports that involve billions and billions of dollars annually cannot have sophisticated control and monitoring systems on the field that can call a game perfectly. I say this from a position of some knowledge on the subject, I've worked commercially on automation and integration systems. Hell one of my classmates built a really simplified football scoring device for his senior project. With a 20 dollar micro controller. The thing would run the clock, had all the macros written for timeouts and penalties and such. All it needed was the input of sensors in the right spot to complete the system. We could scrutinize it the same way we do lottery machines, and see how people flock to those in the casino! They obviously trust those machines, we don't even have laws like that in place to manage voting machines. But with enough money on the line the system would be heavily secured and would give fans the confidence to know for a fact that the game is played on an even field.
Whats done is done. For better or worse you shouldn't reverse calls.
The missed called in Santana's no hitter last night shouldn't be over turned. It was in the course of the game and the only way to really fix that would be to go back and replay the game from that moment. That isn't a possible fix at all. They should have replay to fix that then and there, not after they play the next three innings. The Armando Galaragga game is one that they should fix post-game though. It was on literally the final play of the game and was a clear error by the umpire. Changing the outcome of that game to the correct call doesn't change the score or anything else outside of the hitter's BAA. If it is in the course of play leave it, if it can't impact the outcome change it, especially if it has historical significance.
Or they could just get calls right the first fucking time. Well technically the second since it would take replay to make the umpires in baseball worth a damn at all.

The term Soccer originated in Britain, not America. It is still used there, Australia, and a number of other countries although in some of those cases, like Britain, far less than Football.
There are like two rules in the Sports sub forum. Don't be a dick and don't start the soccer/football argument because the person who brings it up is almost always flat out wrong about its origin and usage.

While I don't think calls should be overturned once the game is done, every call in every sport should be reviewable. The ref's opinion should only matter if the video is inconclusive.
Let games be decided by players, not refs.
I don't think calls should be reversed after a game. The game is over, the call is made, leave it. Sure missing out on a no hitter because of a bad call must suck, but the umps are there for a reason. They aren't machines. They are humans and make mistakes.
I also don't believe baseball should have any sort of replays other than for extreme situations. Ruins the sanctity of the game. Take the good calls with the bad calls and play on.
When umpires are calling guys out when players are literally two feet off the bag, missing balls that drop inside the line, calling strikes on balls a foot outside the strike zone etc., something needs to be done. Since Selig has made it clear the MLB has no intention of firing umpires for bad performance, or suspending or fining them, replay is about the only solution. You can't call sanctity of the game when the guys making decisions on the field are so ridiculously incompetent it is drastically changing the outcome of games. Take the Tigers/Sox game from last week. The umpires missed two calls on the same pitch and it led to three runs in a game decided by three runs. They ruled a foul tip on a swing that clearly made no contact on replay and made no foul sound off the bat, which is what they usually go by. They then ruled the ball hit the dirt when it was in fact caught by the catcher. That is just incompetence by two umpires on the exact same play. Every single other major sport has taken steps to solve those issues. Basketball allows replay now for 3s vs 2s, goaltending, shot clocks, etc. Football has challenges for everything but penalties. College football has replay for everything but penalties. Hockey has replay for every single goal scored. Baseball has home runs and that is it.
Also, LOL PLEASE. Sanctity of the game my ass. The NL MVP tested positive for testosterone at the end of last season and not only kept his unearned trophy and place in the history books, he avoided a suspension thanks to a horrible ruling by an arbitrator. There is no sanctity in baseball.

I'll defend Americans and other countries using the term soccer, but there is absolutely no defense for the imperial measurement system. it is clunky and incredibly stupid. It already isn't used in math and sciences. The only reason it is still even in use is because we are too lazy to change and too afraid of having to learn something new. Imperial units, cursive, and the QWERTY keyboard should stop being used right now, but none of them are going away and all three continue to be taught in our schools despite them being wildly useless.
