Frey doesn't. I have also stopped drinking it for the most part. Maybe I will have a can during a birthday, but I usually drink Arizona green tea now.

And I'm willing to bet he still loses races. However, a lost race isn't always on the person driving considering mechanical issues and what not, but I'm willing to bet if he invested as much, or more practice than his opponents, he's be at the top nearly every time. This is removing non-human issues, of course.

In all fairness, maybe I was wrong to fully shove hard work aside. You have a point, although I still believe that it's not a pure necessity, or that it's as effective as most say.

It's not an absolute necessity, but it is a necessity.

I don't really think that has anything to do with respect though, you're just saying that this guy got it done without as much hard work as most did. There's still no way Kimi has done no hard work to get where he is, it may be less then the others on the field and he may do just as well thanks to his natural talent but I don't think he deserves more respect than the drivers who are just as good but got there through more hard work. I probably agree that due to his skill he deserves equal respect as other drivers of his caliber, some would argue he deserves less, but I don't see how he would deserve more than those that did work hard and put in more seat time to accomplish their goals.

Why would he only deserve equal (or outright less) respect? That's exactly the problem. If he's able to match or even beat those that have put in a lot of work to get to his level, then that only shows that he's better than them.

Indeed.

Only time I ever drank it was to compliment a meal, to wash it down, never just when I was just sitting around. After that my soda of choice is Ginger Ale as it usually has the least additives out of any soda.

Well my first post is gonna look kind of dumb after you say that and make it look like I really disagree completely with you when that's really not the case,
I more agree with this, I think hard work deserves respect but you're right it's not always necessary and is sometimes overrated but I don't think it less valuable than talent or luck. Sure it works best when combined with those things and those things can go far on their own, sometimes farther than hard work alone can but they just seem like different roads to the same destination in most cases. I don't think it matters much whether you used talent or hard work or both if you still ended up doing something great, its the greatness that matters not the road to it, for me at least.

Obviously. Hell, he hasn't won a single race this year (though he is 5th in the championship), but I'd blame that on the team's strategy, which has screwed both him and his teammate over on multiple occasions.

And he has actually been at the top almost every single time. 2002 (first season with a top team, marred by car reliability issues) and 2009 (he almost fully lost his motivation and had a bad car) are about the only times when he wasn't "there".

It's not an absolute necessity, but it is a necessity.

Obviously, but every race is more of a team effort kind of thing, so it shouldn't be too surprising to see that he doesn't always win. Hell, he hasn't won a single race this year (though he is 5th in the championship), but I'd blame that on the team's strategy, which has screwed both him and his teammate over on multiple occasions.

That's the thing about racing, there is a lot more involved than just one person's ability, especially in any kind of motor vehicle racing.

I just see it like this. Some people are just really good at some things, and I am really good at some other things. However, if I don't put in any kind of hard work to reach the level that my opponent is at when we're on equal footing, I'll lose. Having intellect and potential means nothing if you don't devote some amount of time to mastering it.
