    Less playing = better items?

I just read a post in some german D3 forum and somebody put up the theory that less playing yields better drops mentioning examples where friends of him who rarely play find good items (1000 dps 1h weapons, 1300 2h weapons or legendarys) very soon they log in again, while he himself has a lot of play time/ farming time and never seen such items.

So my question is, what are your experiences with this? can this be true or is just bad luck for him and luck for the others. I cant quite tell at the moment, i have been farming a lot and have yet to find a set item or one of those high dps weapons (1000 2h was the best i came up with). Could this be a hidden mechanic to encourage casual players to more playtime when they think woah that was easy i guess if i play more i can find more like this. Or is it just some obscure theory?

    Whats your opinion?

It's just random. I've had play time where nothing good dropped, even with 5 stacks of NV, and then logged in later to get 3 or 4 great drops. Still, even after 109 hours on my barbarian I have yet to get a second legendary.

    Just RNG.

That is possibly one of the silliest things I've ever heard OP

    RNG is RNG

I've made over millions of gold and countless $$$$ with my play time of mf'ing Act 1 - 3 Rotating which is within 500 hours +

Enough to buy a new computer? F yeah like a boss sniping those items and flipping AH, the manipulation at my command? Pfft not hard like I sniped this perfect SS ( Stormshield ) For 25$ and I re-made it into 250$. The guy I guess MISPRICED it to 25$ It was funny

And of course MF'ing runs do contribute as well to $$$$

so, that means it is entirely possible, if you dedicate your time to it, to live off of diablo farming?

Well yeah It's possible however I've noticed a decline of players meaning less sells less sniping yada yada. It's not going to last long here personally if they don't do something and I'm getting bored =/

In short It's getting harder to sell things because people are leaving left to right lol

It wasnt my Idea :O, just maybe someone witnessed similar things. My thought ofc is that its random, but i am opben to new theories that would explain my dry period. Just yesterday i found my third legendary and it was so underwhelming i did instant "disenchant" just to recive 3 encrusted hooves intead of the brimstone i hoped for i seriously went "are you fucking kidding me?" to "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU". I will check nontheless if my friends who seldom play will have insane luck or not, but its hard to investigate like all the stuff that has to do with RNG, and ofc blizz would never admit.

And between getting showered in good items and playing the AH/RMAH lie worlds :P (when you state you have made a lot of Gold/$)

$1,000 over the course of two months is not really a particularly good "living".

Simply chanting the 'RNG' theme doesn't discredit such theories. It would be logical to put something like this in the code, as it might give some people just enough incentive to keep logging on. Of course, if they really wanted to get people 'hooked' perhaps they would put some sort of daily/weekly quest in game that gives you a reward that is decent enough to get the players who might only want to log on for maybe 20 minutes a day.

Honestly, if I was offered 1000$ for playing 500 hours of D3, I would deny it. After 500 hours of this lame lackluster crap I could go and bury myself due to inevitable braindeath soon to come. I turned my back on D3 after 200 hours and it was a good decision. And besides, 2$/h is not particularly good.

The point of the new battle.net is that you can play/should/are encouraged to play multiple Blizzard titles at the same time. No need to "quit" WoW to play Diablo/Starcraft.

As to the topic at hand, its all random. Anyone can make RNG look like it supports their views on how loot works/doesn't work based on luck.

14k achievement points...you must have literally played the entire 7 years lol <3

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

    Agreed 100 %

Diablo 3 is the only game that could take me away of playing WoW every day for the past 6 years ...

This alone makes Diablo 3 an amazing game experience.

The fact it stays there on BattleNet and will always be available for free is amazing.

The lucky roll on gear is only 2 clicks away forever.

And the fact you don't need to justify your gearscore, achievement to some no life kid is a breath of fresh air.

I could play this game forever even with 1 drop out of the blue in 10 weeks time.

This is simple hack n slash fun, the loot is just that, some icing on an ever available cake WITHIN the Blizzard stable.
