Most Unstable Game You Have Played

After yet more BF3 crashes and connections issues I am noticing that more and more games are being released unfinished and extremely buggy.

For me BF3 is the most unstable game I have ever played. Between random crashes, lock-ups, and connection issues, finishing a single round is an extremely rare occurrence.

Diablo 3 is another game that for me and my friends is quite buggy and unstable. Living in Australia, we got the shaft in terms of latency, which makes progressing into inferno impossible. This issue is not centralised to my area or ISP, but spread across the entire county as well as New Zealand.

It just grinds my gears after purchasing a game and being unable to play it because of issues that were known upon release.

So for me BF3 takes the cake for being the most unstable game I have played.

    What about you guys?

I read the title and thought of BF3 before I even saw that BF3 is what you were going to talk about. I agree completely, but for me at least it's on the xbox 360, not PC. Every other day I tried to play the game the servers were down or wouldn't come up with any to join. The matchmaking was an absolute trainwreck. I haven't played the game in months so I'm not sure if the issue was resolved, but it was frustrating as hell.

OT: I haven't had any bugs pop up whilst playing D3. I cannot recall any game that had an unusual amount of bugs. I don't really count connection issues as bugs though.

Can't say it was "unstable", but Might and Magic IX was really really bugged.
That's why you need me.... Need someone to punish you for your sins.

Probably Oblivion. Full of bugs, random crashes, and the installation process took forever and a day to work.

Connections issues not on our end are bugs though. I can play wow, lol, cod all day long and not have a single hick up, but as soon as I launch BF3 I am hit with server timeouts and subsequent crashes. It's not acceptable for developers to release a product with such wide spread issues such as this.

Grinds my gears I tell you!

Day Z is a mod. They can have bugs, since they don't have multi million dollar companies behind them.

For me, it was Rage. The game was cool, but man, how many times I had to restart because textures just wouldn't load.

Black and White was very unstable when it was released. It is probably the most unstable game I've played.

Empire Total War upon its release...

Ultima IX. Nothing else really even compares. It wasn't even playable for many/most customers until months after release.

D3 definitely takes gold in this contest of instability, given the amount of polls and the vast amount of blogs and articles bringing D3's first-few-months instability. Prior to that? Probably pre-patch ps3 Skyrim. D3 and one other game I cannot recall were the only 2 games I've ever quit playing due to instability (among other things).

Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines. One of the best RPGs ever made, but it's unplayable without the community bug fix patches.

DayZ is a MOD and a free mod at that.
DayZ is in ALPHA stage, you know... Alpha > Beta > Complete?.

    OT.

I can´t believe nobody has mentioned Call Of Duty Black Ops for the PC........... that game was UNPLAYABLE for a LONG time after it was released in multiplayer, you had to go threw TON of fixes to get it to run in a semi-smooth way, and those that had dual core Pc´s where just out of luck, since the game had gigantic lagg spikes for them and framerate drops.
Hell the game was unplayable for PS3 as well when it first came out.

Vanguard at launch. The game barely functioned. Half the game systems wouldn't respond, abilities wouldn't work, NPC's wouldn't talk to you, quests were flat out broken. The game played like a game in mid alpha.
