As i remember the models are limited only to the board game and let me tell you they are sweet.

You mean rules wise or lore wise, because they did have Fear to Tread, which is a BA book, it's not amongst the best in the Heresy (really wish they'd give someone else a chance with BA instead of James Swallow, similar to Nick Kyme with Salamanders), but it's alright, Sanguinius gets some badass moments anyway.

Rules wise I doubt we'll get him for a while, since they seem to be sticking to chunks of Lore to get the Forgeworld books out, I imagine we'll get a few more of the multi Primarch books first, probably Prospero next with Leman Russ/Magnus.

There have been leaks of characters for the alpha legion, some assassin bloke and Alpharius/Omegon. So who knows, we might see them sooner than later.

Well, today's the day. I did it. Finally did it. Bought my first ever Warhammer (40k) model: an Ork Deff Dread. 86 pieces. Got the six paints that were stated on the back of the box (Presumably I don't need any others?), pulled out my exacto knife, glue and the smallest brushes I could fin. Layered over the kitchen table with cardboard. Just started plying the first 5 pieces out required for step 1 on the instructions...

This is going to turn out horrible, isn't it?

I have a Deff Dread in creation here as well. If you are patient you'll do fine. Normally you need more than just those first six paints.
What colour are you basing the figure in? If you use black, then you can shade by simply applying thin layers, if not then you're in for a tough time without a wash.

Not exactly 40K related, but I got some of the Island of blood models and I just finished my first block of Lother Sea Guards. Very enjoyable to paint. Also almost finished the mage. Also enjoyable!

im actually interested in this hobby. how much money would it cost to complete a 500-800pts army (including rulebook, codex, paints, rulers, dices etc. basically everything i would need to start playing) and where to buy it ? i dont live in england so i guess it would be harder to get it.

what are the differences between all races ? advantages and disadvantages ?

whats the best race choice moneywise, and best choice for a newbie getting into it ?
