Theives actually have one of the highest skill caps in gw2... they are pretty hard to get right. Leveling is weird though because they made it sort of sandbox but not really. Personally I generally recommend people find a fun guild to play with just to get through the leveling process and then once they are 80 exploring everything the game has to offer.
Mercy I don't think so, but there are a couple of people on the list I'm unsure of.

Oh then maybe because I've been playing solo since I got the game may be the cause... Then again still being unable to choose a class is a pain.
