No it isn't, apart for failed MMO's for which it might be standard. And WoW does not confirm this at all, again quite the opposite. And why are you trying to spin asians using a different method to pay for their game time and pay less than western subscribers, as them not counting as an actual paying player? Because they do in fact, just like anyone have, have to pay for their game time. That's not "padding" by calling an actually paying player what it is. Does american players not count either then? Because they pay less than the european ones do so clearly it's padding the numbers by calling those filthy cheapskates actual subscribers because they don't pay as much.
80% left because of the games shortcomings, shortcomings which the fanboys claimed never existed as well as grand claims of how everyone but that specific poster was perfectly happy with the game, turns out they were wrong and the disappointment and lack of improvement drove players away.
While I agree that the guy isn't correct in he's statement, Chinese WoW players pay a fraction of what EU/NA players pay and as they do it hourly with time cards that are valid for 6 months so it's not comparable nor is it incorrect to call them padding numbers what talking subscribers.
Why is it hard to do a 4M+6M and conclude that there are 10M paying subs on WoW regardless of the different paying methods? Asians are still people right?
When Bioware gave free time to unsubbed/ cancelled accounts saying that " We love you guys! Here have some free game time!" and counted them as overall subs there wasnt a "SWToR has 3k to 4k subs and another 1M of free game time subs".
Seriously what is so wrong about the 10M sub mark and why does it bother you so much?
No one gave them a pass for that, at least not anyone with a level head.
Well the Chinese player buys a time card with 60 hours if I recall correctly, for this he pays about half of what you pay for a month of WoW, he then proceeds to use 1 minute of he's time and logs off to never play again. In this scenario Blizzard counts him as a "subscriber" for the full 6 months the time card is active.
You see why it's so different it's not valid to use in comparison to games with western customers paying $15 a month. For a valid comparison WoW has somewhere 3,5-4,5 million western subscribers, still lightyears ahead of any competition but far from the advertised 10 million.
It would be if swtor called all their preferred players subscribers.

Oh look, this argument again. Because it's totally relevant to SWTOR and the current discussion (it's not).
So what so you suggest? That we sit idle by while some one totally perpetuates the illusion that WoW has 10 million monthly subscribers, that you go and edit out blatant misinformation or just perhaps that we go where the discussion takes us, in this case to this very old argument, relevant to SWTOR or not.

Spreading false information? Wth ... it is Blizzard that anounced +10M Subscribers across all regions and we all know their definition of subscriber.
You are the one spreading false information and asking everyone that reads this forums to believe on a random guy like you over a legaly bound company like Blizzard.
Anyway believe in whatever u want and what makes u feel good.
I couldn't help but notice that i could hardly even begin to understand almost anything that was said in their statement, they sounded more off topic than G.W.B. plus their arrogance was astounding
Well this one totally derailed into pointlessness...
