I'm very surprised to see people seemingly more excited about the tacky/cheesy sex scenes than the actual gameplay with substance.
Eh. Very different types of games, I don't see them as competing. Witcher is more action oriented. I'm looking forward to both quite a bit.

The following is information from the books. It will not spoilt much of the story of the books, but instead tell you about the relationships between Geralt, Triss and Yennefer based on how they were originally in the last/latest book and how they, considering the whole memory-return-thingy at the end of W2, should be in the third game of the franchise.
Be warned, if you want to learn about these relationships through original means, be that book or game, then you should NOT highlight the text below.
The information given out is much shorter than this introduction to the possible spoiler, but I wanted to make sure to give ample warning beforehand.
Highlighting starts here: Originally, Yennefer and Geralt became somewhat of a destined pairing. They had some off-and-on relationships with each other, common for a witcher, common for a witch. Triss was, for quite some time, somewhat of a semi-apprentice of Yennefer, as she looked up to her. Naturally, Triss fell for Geralt, the epitome of a man that managed to garner not only Yennefers affection, but also her scorn, whenever they met.
Triss slept with him, tried to garner his attention and draw him to her, but he couldn't fall for anyone but Yennefer.
Yennefer didn't like it, but was mostly just angry at Geralt, not at Triss, for that sexual intermezzo.
A few books in, Yennefer eventually also realised how much Geralt actually meant to her.
It was around this time that Yennefer found out that Triss was doing shady things and lieing her ass off, mostly because she thought that those things would protect Geralt and perhaps change his affections into her favor.
This put Geralt into grave danger and Yennefer has consequently sworn that she will NEVER forgive Triss.
Now, in relations to the games: Geralt had Amnesia. Yennefer had amnesia. Triss knew everything all along. Triss used Geralt's amnesia to try and make him fall for her, while also not telling him about Yennefer, who was without a doubt his absolutely clear true love. She also used him.
Since CDPR try and respect the books, they will undoubtedly give Triss a mere role as companion in the third game, once Geralt's full memories have been restored. Triss still wants to help them, but Geralt will, if they go in accordance to the books, undoubtedly seize all romantic relations with her.
PS: I should probably mention that, in theory, occasional banging can occur in the Witcher universe without romance being involved in it.
Highlighting ends here.
Well, turned out longer than I thought. Anywho, hope that brought you guys up to speed.

I said I was surprised to see people seemingly MORE excited about the tacky/cheesy sex scenes than the actual gameplay with substance. I didn't imply that they didn't care about the latter, I actually gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed that they did care about the gameplay, hence "more than." So your reply doesn't really make much sense.

I smell a 2015 GOTY already...
Anyways, glad to hear an original soundtrack rather than a typical high fantasy soundtrack for the game. Graphics are gorgeous, and I've been following the dev blog, and everything appears spot on as to what they are saying. Can't fathom what kind of story were gonna have this time.
Game looks amazing... which means I won't touch it with a 10 foot pole... Witcher 2 still runs like shit on this PC...
Because in all actuality, we only ever really want that one game that comes out that year. Sure, we buy several other games, but we only play them to fill our time until that one game we've been waiting all year for comes out. Then when that happens, we just toss aside our old toys and indulge ourselves hours on end with that one game.
People who praise Dark Souls gameplay while putting Witcher 2's down baffle me. Both are very similar and honestly the latter plays a lot smoother.
Also Dragon Age: Inquisition is releasing a full 6 months or so before Witcher 3. You could just as easily play both. I personally don't care about DA because I seem to hate Bioware games no matter how hard I try to get into them.

Music does more for a game for me than even the gameplay. Skyrim's gameplay is objectively pretty bad but the overall game world is amazing yet that alone wouldn't have gotten me into the game. But with that music...man I love that game.
Witcher 3 seems to have pretty good gameplay to boot. I'm certainly excited though I have no real expectations outside of an engrossing story and great characters which is pretty much a gimme so there's no way I'll be disappointed. Too bad I probably won't be able to play it until 3-6 months after it's released due to boards.

No not really. Witcher 2 is terribly optimized. Anything above medium settings on my GTX 660 without ANY anti-aliasing puts me at 30-40 fps.
For a comparison I can run Skyrim on ultra with 8x AA and AF with some pretty great ENB's and a shit ton of texture packs at 60 fps even during multiple dragon battles.

"We've missed you!
"Today you got a look at the third trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We hope you liked it!
"There's so much more in this game that is's just impossible to show everything withing two and a half minutes. Still we tried
"More importantly we just showed you some of the main characters
"Geralt's close friends and some of the last witchers remaining in the world - Vesemir, Eskel and Lambert - will play a big part in the game, as well their famous fortress Kaer Morhen.
"You also got a glimpse of the renowned bard Dandelion and the sorceress Triss Merigold.
"Emhyr var Emreis, Emperor of Nilfgaard, the most powerful man in the world of The Witcher also made an appearance. Recognize his voice?
"And then there was Ciri!
"And Yennefer!
"By the way, if you're new to the series, don't worry, the game will introduce you into all you need to know, and you'll start loving (and hating!) characters in no time!
"Also, you've been asking us many questions about gameplay features and we're finally ready to answer some of them - so here it goes:
"Yes, you will be able to fight while on horseback
"The crossbow. Yup, Geralt can use ranged weapon. Because sometimes monsters fly and you can't reach them.
"Remember swimming and sailing. You'll be able to dive and search for a lot of hidden stuff too. There's a whole underwater world to discover.
"Horse racing anyone?
"You also got to hear more music from the game. This particular track was composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz & Percival. We'd love to hear your feedback. Fire away in the comments or on the game's Facebook/Twitter/forums. Remember, we're always listening, even if we're not getting back to you.
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Team, CD PROJEKT RED
"PS. If you're still waiting for more (you are, right?), please be patient. We're just warming up.
"PPS. Have you seen the Collector's Edition video? What do you think about the figure?
"PPPS. We've just announced a closed multiplayer beta of The Witcher Adventure Game -------- & let the GOG.com guys ------ you."
