So don't hack on Xbox Live and you won't get banned. You purchased the Xbox, you are free to do with it what you wish (as far as modding goes), but when you take it online and disrupt the play of others, or they determine you are illegally pirating games, thats your fault.

As for everyone hating on XB1, apparently everyone forgets how Steam originally launched and all the hate it got for it's DRM and having to login to play it's games. Look how poorly Steam turned out... wait.

So instead of having to login every time you want to play a game (Steam), Xbox does this automatically, in the background, once a day. Damn, that sounds terrible to me.

As a happy owner of an Xbox 360 and not owning a ps3 at all I can say with 100% certainty that it would be the dumbest move ever to buy an xbox one over a ps4.

It seems the previews shown during E3 (or wherever the new x-box content was shown) wasn't even shown using the console, they were shown using high-end PC's.

I honestly don't think the cost should sway you towards buying an x-box even if it were the cheaper option, because you would be getting a better deal buying the PS4 regardless, in my opinion. There is so much wrong with the X-Box 1 that it should be a no brainer.

Would love to hear your 100% certainty reasons. I had a lot of real life friends who tried to argue that PS4 > XB1 argument, but I just can't see it at all. I'll be the first to admit I am an Xbox fanboy, but the original thing that through me off of Playstation consoles in the past was the controller. When the original Xbox came out, the controller just seemed to melt in my hands and I just can't get used to the PS controllers (any generation of them honestly).

I'll give the PS4 credit, it has some great exclusive games that I'm sure I will play on friends consoles, because they look that good, but the same can be said for Xbox One (and if you disagree, then you are just being naive and can't get over your Sony favoritism). Also, I like how Netflix comes with the PSOnline (I think that's what it's called?), although that's not a big seller for me because I torrent nearly all my movies and TV shows.

I hated the Kinect on the 360, but so far the new Kinect (Kinect 2?) looks very good. I'm excited to get rid of my HTPC and use my XB1 for all my entertainment means. Really if you're that paranoid that Microsoft Xbox is going to spy or do check in's on you, then you should just get off the internet now. I'm excited to see how the new Kinect recognizes people based off looks and voice (as they said in their initial reveal it would). If it's anything but perfect, I will be pissed and be one of the first people spamming the interwebs on how bad they screwed it up.

I last logged into steam two weeks ago. I last played a steam game last night. One of the MANY differences between Steam and XBox1 is that Steam doesn't require you to be online, only that the client be running. It has an offline mode. XB1 will not have such a mode, by explicit design... which means if your internet goes out for any reason for an extended period of time (or at an inopportune time), you lose access to all of your single player console games. This is a design contradiction that means I will never buy it. I *still* loathe games that require online access that are not explicitly multiplayer (Diablo3 included), regardless of whether I have an always active internet connection.

And account bans happen for many reasons... but have never in the past denied access to things you bought. Of course, that's the next difference; with XB1, you don't buy games, you buy licenses which, as per Microsofts SOP, can be revoked whenever they like. What if they falsely ban you? Not common perhaps, but it happens... and while you fight with Microsoft, every game you purchased is inaccessible.

Steam is a content provided that imposes very little control on what you do with the content after you've purchased. Microsoft will maintain absolute control forever. To claim the two are equivalent, and that the XB1 will not impose any hardships, is to be willingly ignorant for the sake of mocking others.

(That's not even touching the fact that I have less than zero interest in voice commands, manipulating the TV at the same time, a Kinect that watches me even if I can turn it off, or half of the other "features" Microsoft is pushing. In fact, the only thing they're doing that I don't have an inherent problem with is the restriction of used games, and even that is contingent on the prices of said games being lower as a result of the lack of a secondhand market potentially drawing in new customers.)

Half of the shit on the X-Box One doesn't work outside of the US anyway, so Europe is pretty much screwed, or the parts of Europe that can even get one working anyway due to the region locks they have for those outside of certain countries. There is also the issue of the T.V. not working outside of the US either.

I agree there, like Diablo 3 made me made because I wanted to play it on my laptop while on the train to and from work, but can't. As for Steam having an offline mode, didn't know (I don't use Steam). "If your internet goes out for any reason for an extended period of time" then you need to take it up with your ISP, because you have a problem with them. If your internet is without connection for over 24 hours, or you live in an area with shobby connection, then the XB1 isn't targeted to you nor would it be a smart purchase for you. If thats the case, there is no reason to bash the XB1, since it doesn't apply to you. Why would you even look at a product that requires a connection once a day, when you can't get that? If you just 'hate the fact that it NEEDS internet' then you are probably going to hate a lot of future products. Can I name any of the top of my head? Nope, but to say new products are going to come out that don't require internet connection is foolish, especially with the push in most countries to bring high speed internet to rural areas.

Everything that "for many reasons..." doesn't matter. Can you tell me the last time you were falsely banned? If you can, can you tell me how you were completely screwed and left banned? If so, I advise you to take action with the BBB (if you are in the U.S). Don't do anything illegal to your XB1 while it's connected to their servers. Simple as that. What absolute control does Microsoft have over me if I purchase.. say Halo 8. Nothing. I can play it at my house. I can play it at your house. I can play it at a LAN/Internet Cafe. I can NOT play it if I choose. Are they going to take away the license if I don't play the game? No. Are they going to take away the license if I conduct myself maliciously on their servers? Yes, and they have a right too.

Considering I can't buy whatever crazy logic you just shot at me on Amazon, I'm not sure that works, really. I meant you can actually just buy a PlayStation controller that looks and feels just like an XBox controller. It's an actual thing that really exists.
