    Raid Leader addons

What are your must have addons for a raid leader?

I have been leading raids for years and have been adding raid leading addons to help me be more efficient over the years, especially as a healer it's sometimes hard to pay attention to health bars and so many other things, like certain boss timers and such.

    I recently added:
-Blood Legion's Cooldown Timers (amazing addon)
-Death Notice (great for figuring out wtf just happened to people)

Anybody have any other good ones that may help in any way?

full oRA3 or whichever version is latest
also having decent officers with addons as well will take a huge load off you information wise

I like PhoenixStyle (seems similar to Fatality and EnsidiaFails, it will say who gets damaged by what abilities) and Hermes (I didn't care for the Blood Legion tracker; with Hermes I have a set of bars showing the ability in question and who has it available, so I don't have to just go off of the icon).

I saw one the other day that seemed amazing but I can't remember its name.. it let you like assign whispers to be sent to people when things occur, like you could set it up to whisper someone on Lei Shen transitions and remind them "Move to triangle NOW", or tell a particular healer to pop a certain cooldown on the 4th Rampage of Megaera. That seemed like a killer RL addon but probably requires a ton of customization, and the author was constantly needing feedback on what abilities it should be aware of.

If you use recount, you probably don't need a Death addon: Recount includes that functionality in the "Deaths" section.

I've been meaning to get a raid cooldowns addon. I'll check this thread again when I get home

oRA3 for mass invites and other useful features.
    Skada/recount for tracking peoples deaths

Most other stuff depends if you use a dkp system might want a mod to help with tracking attendance and kills.

Make sure you have good raid frames so you can always see everyones health, and the healers mana. Very helpful information to have.

    Heya,

Apart from the tips mentioned above I'd recommend "RSC - Raid Slack Check" for automatic checks on flasks / food and potions.

Is that that addon that spams raid chat with "No Flask - <list of names>"? I hate that addon

hermes is a good addon too. It shows you which raid cooldowns have ( what is ready and what has cd ( and how long til its ready again )

Yep, it is. As a raidleader I couldn't do without and I know many members appreciate it as well for when they forgot to eat from the feast or have to re-flask.

I only use it for guild raids though, its not meant to be used with PUGs I'm guessing.

I could actually see some good use for that, just the other day a tank pulled before everyone had finished eating because he was in a hurry to get the fight started. Adding this addon to my own list I think.

I find RaidBuffStatus much better than RSC, truth be told. It checks for the food/flask, but you also can see missing available raid buffs, missing personal buffs that should be up before pulling (inner fire, beacons, bone shield, etc) and missing pets, all in a little window that goes away when you enter combat, so it doesn't occupy any UI space, but you can see it at all times before the pull.

Also, I like Blood Legion Cooldowns better than Hermes.

Does Blood Legion cooldown say the actual ability name, or just show the icon? I mainly prefer Hermes because I can't always recognize abilities by their icons, but every screenshot of BL cooldown just shows big icons, sometimes it doesn't even show any kind of cooldown bar but I think that's an option.

I would suggest running the world of logs client instead of using recount/skada. It lets you upload as you're raiding, logs will be up within a few seconds of the fight ending and allow you to look back at it later in greater detail.

Don't know if they have that option. I'm fine with icons and didn't want to change it, the bars show the name of the person that used its CD and how much time they have left to get it back. There are not that many raid CDs after all, you end up knowing all of them in 1-2 of raids if you are not up to speed on some classes.

I'll throw my vote out for Hermes. Although, I might be a bit biased.

Also agree with the previous suggestions: PhoenixStyle, RaidBuffStatus, Skada, WeakAuras, oRA3.
And a very well setup raid frame: Vuhdo or Grid, being able to identify raid debuffs on your team.

Hermes - Share cooldown status with raid/party.
Skada: Survivability - Show when a character died during a specific attempt.
AffDots - Track the potency of your DoTs on a target.

    skada and hermes

PhoenixStyles + Raid Slack Check (pretty sure it doesn't spam about flasks as defaunt, I go into it manually and press a button when im not sure everyones flasking).

Skada (can be broken into multiple windows which Recount can't/is incredibly hard to).

So far i allready have hermes/raidslackcheck/ora3. I heard there is an addon that is better than DBM for raid leads, I remember using Dues Vox as a raider in WotLK, but cant remember this "new one".

Imho one important aspect of damage meters for raid leaders is damage on certain mobs.
There will always be important mobs that should die fast and you should be capable to check who did a good/bad job in this case.

Good news is that all damage meters can do this.
Bad news is that you have so set recount up to show this data while skada (afaik) and details! show them without configuration.

In general using damage meters (or live logs) the right way is an important part of raidleading.
You should be able to analyze whats going wrong while you are raiding.

Deathlogs, damage taken from specific abilities, damage done to specific targets, interrupts and dispels should be more interesting to you than overall damage/healing.

You should check out the different meters and stick to what fits your needs best.
Recount and Skada were mentioned here quite often. I'd like to add Details!.
    Its definitely worth a look.
