Helm of Primal turtle vs Carapace setup?

Carapace of the core dropped for me last night so I switched to the SMF BIS setup and expected to see a sim increase but instead saw a sim decrease versus my previous setup using crown of the golden golem as off item. Just wanted to clarify which is the BiS setup for 5.3?

It's Ra-Den chest vs Dark Animus helmet. Set helmet has the two least desired stats possible, only 180 crit instead of 180 strength socket bonus and carapace has only three red sockets -> what did you expect? A reasonable dps upgrade from a clear sidegrade? Helmet remains BiS

It's more or less equal, in the 500 dps range. But just look at 5.4, you'll replace at least one of the items rather soon anyway and then you'll be glad when you can go for more offpieces.

In our 25m, we have a loot system that gives priority to those seeking tier bonus.

1) You choose to pick up tier items first. You get priority for tier sets till your 4pc bonus is met.
2) You choose to forgo tier items first. This way, you get higher priority for weapons/trinkets.

I went path 2 in T15. Considering go path 1 in T16.

That is pretty cool senturion. I would def go option 2. Weapons are more important for us. That 2 piece is sexy though.

How quickly you guys looking to replace your 4 set with off pieces anyways?

I have dropped 4 piece in general the past 2 weeks with HTF off pieces since we already have one warrior with 4 set. I let him use his 4 set to benefit him more because I would be hurting myself more if I waited past all my CD to benefit from it.
