EU realms are linked with Russian realms in PvP?

The last ~week or so I almost ONLY face Russian Alliance realms in Battlegrounds and I wonder if this is a good or a bad thing.

Dont get me wrong, I have nothing against realms from other regions, and ive seen other language realms before in BG's (mainly Germans, who are awesome pvpers btw.) but this does make me worry somewhat.

I wonder what it means.
Are less people playing PvP? Did the EU subscriber numbers drop? Or is it perhaps even a bug ? (Wich would strike me as odd)

Thing is, communication with these players is rather hard. I personally speak multiple languages, but I don't understand a word of russian! How can you pvp if you don't understand each other?

The worst thing being paired with russian realms is that you can pretty much expect exploiting/cheating as soon as you see those russian names in the opposing teams.

Hell.. just look at the top names in RBGs and 5v5. Its packed with russians with no gear and if they have gear it has no gems/enchants.
Most of them are at 3k rating too. Its so fucking obvious but blizzard does nothing as usual. Pathetic!

I honestly didn't expect this to be true, but it seems it is. Indeed, pathetic! Especially in 5v5 it's bad. And it appears to be only russian players. What's going on there?

Sadly true.

TBH though i am also getting tired of trying to target call "the shaman" and find the rest of my team hitting the wrong one because all their names are unpronounceable!

imo mixing the language clients in the same pvp grouping was always asking for trouble when you get someone land in your BG with "no speak english"

Pairing Spanish and English realms together was bad enough. But as someone mentioned before, at least with Spaniards you ONLY have a communication barrier, they don't seem to HAX everything or bug out your UI and at least their names are usually pronounceable.

in 2s/3s i have met ALOT of ?????????????????????? players and this is annoying as fuck. 2 things, when my mouse cursor is on one of these fuckers i get a big block of ??????????? in my screen and everyone here and their mother knows that russians are the ones doing the RBG boost and arena boost most of the times.

Does make identifying your opponents a little harder especially while communicating.

oQueue is very popular on russian realms and if you make some sort of premade group inviting people from oQueue you will end up with quite a lot russian people. That is why you see more cyrillic names lately.

In PVP I never had russians on my side, but it happened quite a few times they were in the opposite team. If I play completely random I don't care, but when we play in a team it really sucks when half of the enemy team is called '????????????', makes it quite difficult to concentrate on one player. I really would prefer if they automatically gave them readable names.

In the last few weeks I had many russians in oQueue raids, but they all spoke english. So I have no experience if there is a language barrier.

Faced a full russian group yesterday. Thought they were a premade after I stumbled upon this thread. If this is true, it's really stupid.

I already get annoyed when there are german people or french people in my group as they're in general too ignorant to speak English, but having to deal with russians..

I have nothing against Russian (was there few times and I do enjoy it much) but was paired with them yesterday like 6 time and lost BG 6 time because of them. They were ignorant and afking. This really piss me off, I know that it doesnt matter that they are Russians but never had good experience with them in-game. I also hate when I want to heal my team and roll over their names and see "???????????" after my mouse over. AFKing in BG and when you ask them to move, they just say "Hey retard, calm down kid, its just a game". This really ruins the game when you log for a hour or so to play a BG and you see this.

Agreeing with Puri, its really hard to concentrate on player when everywhere on your screen you have "????????".

Hi there from russian realms.
You know, international pvp ladder is a good thing(When RU group is alliance and EN group is horde for example, and no mixing in same group). Maybe we will see more bans for russian exploiters, because russian GMs seem to do nothing.
About BGs, you should ask blizzard(because no one reads and listens to russian wow forums) to implement simple thing "if player's name is russian then show his battletag instead of name(which is in english)".
Also we have botting problem, again russian GMs do nothing. I hope very much, that massive crying on EU forums will help with this case.

I've seen one or two of them within LFR & Flex, and they do have their Cyrillic names, and it makes my chat box go all funny and odd, although I am using PRAT.

I don't see the need to merge / connect realms that'll have almost zero possibility of getting along due to language barriers. They've been given their own realms to help them find people of common interest and be able to talk their own language, same for German & French.

It has nothing to do with less people PvPing, bugs or EU subscribers dropping because Russian realms ARE EU REALMS. You need to make a distinction between languages and not nationalities here. Ther is no such thing as a German realm or an English realm etc., they are simply different languages on the EU client.

Basically, you will play with people from all over the European continent and beyond on the EU client and that includes Russians.
