I think this picture is appropriate here:

Everyone has time to exercise. Everyone. Everyone I know who says they "don't have time" to do this or that, has time to go out, time to go on the internet, time to sit and watch their tv shows etc. What they mean is "I can't be bothered" - which is *fine* - it's your body, if you don't want to stay in shape then don't. Just don't expect people to spare your feelings or give you special treatment.

Hmm. Two obese parents gives you an 80% chance to be obese. Yes, not all, and probably not that many, people who are overweight can use that as an excuse. But you can't just say EVERYONE is just using an excuse to be lazy.

I never said the picture did anything. People post picures of themselves all the time. The difference is they don't get all condescending, saying "what's your escuse?". She might as well just continued with her train of thought by adding "you lazy shits" at the end of that sentence.

I'm fat and I wish people would tell me more often because I'd be more inclined to care.

she's been fit for 2 years of her life according to the article. she's unnaturally thin now in my opinion. her husband can watch the kids and make good money from his monthly disability checks. i dunno, i don't see the point in all this fitness if you don't want to. it's like making fitness nuts eat way too much and drink 2 liters of coke a day.

She has a point: WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE? Today, that sort of thing is considered rude and egotistical, instead of motivating as it SHOULD be. People are fat, lazy, and they don't like it when others point it out, pure and simple. Good for her for getting/keeping in shape. At least she's not some 400+ lb fatass sitting on a couch or at a computer, complaining that someone who actually bothered to adhere to the discipline required to get in shape is trying to motivate others. Sickens me that people actually took offense.

My roommate asked me that same question about a year ago. Today, I've lost almost 50 lbs, and gained about 3 inches on my arms. I'm actually doing what is necessary to get in shape. Not because society wants me to be, since that's obviously not the case, but because it makes ME feel good, and not afraid to take my shirt off in public.
I wish I had a friend to do some sports with...every time I start doing sports I just get bored due doing it solo. I know excuses, but it truely is boring doing it alone. :<

My mom has been trying to lose weight for years, and she has made slow, gradual process.

Some people have it way easier than others.

Rofl, don't give me that bullshit. The chances are higher because your child is exposed to the same bullshit diet/mentality/health plan that you prescribe to as an obese parent, increasing his likelyhood to be obese.

Throw him in boot camp with a strict diet, I'd love to see a obese kid be obese for long. Nice statistics tho. 100% of children born to poor parents are poor. Genetics.

Disagree that the OP photo is fat shaming, and the bullying shit has gotten out of hand, but goddamn almost everybody in this thread is a fucking asshole.

I'm in better than average shape, work out 3 days a week to stay there. No need to go around calling overweight people disgusting, lazy, or worthless like many of you are doing. Must be hard to be perfect.

    /rant off

so you're saying that going up to some of those ugly ass fit people and telling them how ugly they are is ok, right? why spare feelings? they can get plastic surgery right?

society is keeping your mouth shut so everyone can get along. new fitness addicts included. i'm in great shape in my 30s and let ugly and fat people be.

Telling me I looked overweight made me exersise more while in the past when people called me a fat lazy basterd I just got depressed.

It means the same thing, but how you bring something makes a world of difference to the person you are bringing it on.

No problem, I'm not a motivator. You have wonderful people like Miss Kang for that. I'm jus a guy who speaks the truth.

This shit is hilarious. Fat people deserve to be made fun of because they are the only ones to blame for being fat. If you are sick and tired of being shamed for being overweight get off your ass and actually do something about it. And don't give anyone the bullshit that you have a disease that makes you fat, you probably have that disease because you are overweight to begin with.

Do fat people think that fit people are just born like that? Fuck no they aren't, they put in countless hours of work to mold their body. If they can do it, so can any other person on this earth. It might just take certain people a hell of a lot longer to reach that goal, but it can be done.

LOL, no one is going UP to anyone. But ugly people don't cause a drain on medical costs because they can't watch their diet.

they should get elite athletes from the NBA and NFL to shame these fitness addicts lol, they'd be the first to claim "genetics" and they'd be 100% right...but hypocritical

Same here. It's ridiculous how lazy people are so fast to bash this awesome (and quite hot) mom.

Actually, it isn't countless hours. It's very countable. That's the problem: They don't understand that.

However, if you have a LEGIT medical condition that causes you to take on and retain weight, making it difficult to shed a pound here and there, you are clear of the shaming.
What so too embarrassed to go the gym or do some athletic outdoors wise, ,or even go out at all, better stay in and eat more comfort food than face the public shaming. Fat people already feel shamed, they don't like being seen for fat so having a difficult time at sports or figure showing sports attire makes you feel embarrassed and you shouldn't be there. when the lean see you in the gym they don't give you encouragement they give you the fatty fat fat get lost look because they don't want you huffing and puffing sweating on the equipment, seems fat sweat is worse than lean sweat maybe they think you can catch fatness from it. It takes alot to go to the gym if you have been negligent for too long it's a big mental strain before you throw the rigors of training into it. they need support and guidance, not shaming! and maybe fat only gyms

She's entitled to her opinion. People crticizing her are entitled to theirs. No story here.

I'll say this though. She sounds like a house wife. It should be easy for her.

Post-edit: My excuse? I work for a living.
