I was about to buy it ...

    Hi,

I was about to buy MoP today for 10 euro since I would need it for WoD . I skipped MoP because imo its the worst WoW expansion (Kung fu panda and pokemon in a continent filled with Chinese style buildings).

After seeing the WoD reveal at Blizzcon, I got excited and still thinking of maybe getting back into WoW after more than 2 years of absence due to the failure of Cata and my deep deep hatred for MoP.
I initially wanted to buy MoP and resub for 1 month to see if I enjoy the game but I realized that its not worth it .

Its not worth to spend 10 precious euro for something I hate just to be able to play WoD.
After 2 disappointing expansions (cata and MoP) I'd much rather spend my money on a ESO sub when it comes out , than WoD.

I believe ESO will revolutionise the MMO genre. In the meantime until ESO comes out, Ill be playing World of Warcraft on private servers because older expansions were the best.

    Good luck with that one.

MoP is actually a pretty great expansion, you should try it out and put your pre-teen style hatred aside, you will be surprised.

I saw some potatoes on sale today but I didn't buy them because I didn't want potatoes.

All great. Until the point where you foolishly thought you should waste time of your life to make a pointless thread about it.

The 10€ would have been the far wiser investition in comparison.

You stop thinking about Kung Fu Panda once you actually try the expansion.

Also, ESO will not revolutionize anything. I'm among the first wave of closed beta testers and they're basically taking Skyrim and making actual linear quest lines instead of open world freedom... and copying 3 faction PvP from every other game that does it. It feels clunky in an MMO setting (the combat style of TES games) and if you are playing BECAUSE you're a fan of TES series the linear questing will ruin the experience. Also, you're limited to 5 abilities on your bars at any given time. Sounds pretty restricting. Thought GW2 was annoying but at least you could swap your weapons and get all new abilities in GW2.

Well, you do need to get to level 90 in order to progress through WoD. No need to bother with the endgame at this point though. Just get as many toons past the panda crap as possible so you don't need to bother with it ever again.

You mean may be surprised, not will. Plenty of people who tried it still thought it was a lousy expansion.

Didn't alot of people say Rift would become the new WoW aswell? And if I'm not mistaken, didn't people say the same thing about GW2? (might really be mistaking about GW2).

What a gross attempt to stir some controversy.

People were/are saying it about every new (bigger) MMO that hits the market.

I love how you are hating on an expansion you have not tried yet I didn't like MoP, but not because PANDAS AND POKEMON, but the style of the game (Dailies as the faction rep gain, extra rolls and so on).

    Sure a good expansion isn't worth 10 euro's extra.

Hmm, I'm so sad and disappointed that you didn't buy it. WoW would have been so much better with you playing it !

All ESO really has going for it is having the name and setting of an established franchise attached, gameplay-wise it just looks like another WoW clone.

I'm more excited about Everquest Next, that actually likes like they're trying something new.

Lol ESO from what I have played is terrible. The next MMO to revolutionize the genre will be the same guys that revolutionized it first EQ Next.

I hated MoP, but at that price I'd recommend it, you'll find a few things worth your while even if you're not into the Kung Fu panda stuff. Check out Throne of Thunder and the Timeless Isle.

Agreed with these guys. EQN is a risky game. It will either completely flop or be the best current MMO.

Oh man, you're like a caricature of all those inflicted by the agonizing curse aptly deemed 'rose-tinted goggles'.

    Thanks for the laugh.
