Why do you NOT tank?

Because I usually am no.1 on dps and healing and my co-tank is in dps spec/gear or have no clue what to do in the fight. Also people usually look to the tank for advise when they need to improve on a boss and I cba telling every1 what to do when they could just press the dungeon journal and read everything they need in less than 3min.
People always blame the tank when something goes wrong.

This only goes for LFR as you mentioned in your opening post. I love to tank in raids with my guild and the occasional pug. People are just nicer there.

I will tank through leveling dungeons and on the odd occasion when I really miss it, but most of the time, its just not rewarding. Sure, I get the goodie bags with horrible drop rates from rare mounts and pets that I wouldn't have access to, but again, not enough. If we wipe, its my fault. If someone dies from pulling, its my fault. If the boss resets, its my fault. If that extra pack is pulled, its my fault. Ignore the huntard's growl, ignore the mage's overexcited face pulling, ignore the healer in hit rating gear, ignore everything they do wrong, because I am supposed to carry them? I don't enjoy thankless jobs, so why would I main spec tank?

So, why not guild tank? In theory it should be better, but damn my low pop server prevents me from finding the right guild. I don't like guild drama and politics. I will call out the doucher in raid/guild chat raging or generally being an a-hole and probably get kicked from raid or guild, depending on how far up the totem pole they are.

Only time I don't tank is when there's a healer satchel or the matchmaker puts me as healer when I queue as both.

Because LFR is filled with **** that makes it unbearable to even think of them es equal players.

I don't tank because people are inconsiderate asshats who will try and make your life miserable if you even mention the fact that it's your first time tanking the LFR wing you're in.

While a little harsh i can really agree on this, many players' bad mouth is to often the reason for tanks leaving, then again empathy is something that seems to be lacking, and i dont like how this is evolving. Perhaps healers are next....

I have a 553 tank spec monk, I stopped tanking LFR after being 3rd on Dps, 4th on Heals and then having Dps cry at me for dying during Siegecrafter Blackfuse because they stood in the 'Death from above'.

I tank, it isn't hard -at all- and I get the same crap everyone else gets.

Cause Shaman can't tank correctly yet. We have the Rockbiter enchant and some mitigation cooldowns. All we need is for Rockbiter to increase stam and threat generated and reduce crit chance incoming, as well as a nice Agi shield (perhaps possible in WoD), and we'll be on our way. OH, and a taunt.

I thought the unleash weapon on rockbiter was a taunt, but yea id love that!

I don't like active mitigation tanking, I was old school warrior back in TBC and I guess I found it hard then, I really struggle now.

Because tanking is so boring nowdays. its mostly aoe tank and taunt at x stacks. Plus you dont get large hits that could potentially kill you one shot anymore. I miss tanking in TBC where every little stat mattered.

I think a lot of tanks are complainers. I dps heal and tank lfr's and never get yelled at for anything. All I see are self entitled tanks who think they are gods because their queue takes 2 min.

Usually, when i tankd i did it for my guild, but sometimes when i was bored i went to do a few heroics or stuff, and they're so damn easy, you can just get them done in like 10min, esp with 510+ iLvl.

Because the community has little to no tolerance for anyone who is not a perfect tank who can make up for the rest of the group having low dps and/or low hps and/or standing in fire.

My main is a lock so i tank heroics with my voidlord. My pala tank will never tank LFR again due to the sheer idiocy of far too many players. Its the tanks fault your pet continually pulls shit, its the tanks fault you stood in the fire. There are no rewards to have to deal with idiots like this. They should bring in a iLevel cap for LFR. Once you pass it you can never go back to doing it. Separate the decent players from it, from the utter dross. Then they can all play bad in each others fail gene pool
