“Snow can only live in the winter. When it nears a fire, it dies. That is its life. It may yearn for summer, but… it can only desire it. In my hand, the snow becomes water, because this is not its world….”“The boundless Heavens and Earth are the final resting place of all living things. Life is like a journey, filled with various scenery, various paths.
Looking good, but looking at both the developer and publisher this is going to be a DLC-ridden cash cow like Mass Effect 2 & 3 . I'll probably wait until a GOTY-edition can be had for 20 bucks.
I was watching it and i kept thinking of a next gen skyrim XD

Looking really good.
Not quite comparable to Skyrim in that DA:I is not seamless, but hopefully the size of all the areas is similar to Skyrim.

I will never do the same mistake as with Dragon Age 2: I wait too until there is some GOTY available.
Don't understand the 'wait till GOTY' crowd.
Especially if it's a money thing. What's £20 - £30 nowadays?
It's BioWare and EA, so there will likely be a lot of DLC, but lets face it: the DLC for ME3 was NOT a significant detraction from the game. They filled in plot holes, there were some cool weapons and armor, but I played DA2, ME2 & 3 raw and frankly, that was fine. I only just bought some DLC for a replay. This is only my opinion, but none of those games felt incomplete without their DLC.
That aside, I am looking forward to DA3. I like the direction the art is going, feels more like this is specific "Dragon Age" fantasy and less "generic D&D fantasy"(which is fun in its own right, but I own dozens of D&D books, I'm not going to buy a game I can create in my spare time), and it seems they've learned that "more story" doesn't mandate "more linear", as well as providing racial options again, that makes me happy. The visuals look good, so fingers crosses that this will be a great game.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
Just, be kind.

Graphically it looks like what i would expect a next gen mmo to look like. Doesnt look as good as i would expect as next gen single player game to look like. Still gorgeous though.
It looks pretty, though maybe it was just my eyes but there seemed to be a big difference between the footage with the moose in it and the rest of it.
Anyways, cool it looks better but that doesn't mean it plays better. DA2 was really not my thing, it was practically Dynasty Warriors so I'm still unsure of this game.
There will be a lot of DLC indeed because of EA but i still have fairly high hopes for the base game due to who the developer is and it seems like they have learnt their lesson from DA2 with repetitive environments this time around.
That said, shadow broker for ME2 was one of the best DLC packs i have ever dabbled inside.
Okay...seriously, Mass Effect had some of the best DLC available. I had no problem dropping extra money on any of the DLC's (The exception is the Omega DLC, which I didn't buy because it didn't sound like it added anything to the story). But Lair of the Shadow Broker is probably one of the best and most fun DLC adventures I've played.
That being said, Bioware broke a lot of my trust with Dragon Age 2. Mass Effect 3 was another big hiccup, what with the ending and all the contraversey around that. So DA3 went from a Pre-Order to a "wait and see" in my book. But the last video that was released got me more on board for the third chapter in this franchise. I still won't pre-order, but I am going to listen very closely to the review.
Agreed. Also DA2 was borderline awful alltogether and ME3 had an awful ending although the game itself presented some of the most beautiful moments that I've ever had the pleasure to experience in video games.
So yeah, I'm going to wait for user reviews, angryjoe and (hopefully) TB review of this game and have a look at the actual gameplay to make the decision whether to buy the game or not.
Hoping for the best, expecting the worst.
I kinda wish they would change the combat system on star wars one.
UI from 1 was kinda horible:

The combat system in Dragon Age is tactical. Funny enough I tolerated KOTR's combat system much more then Dragon Age.

I'm drawing a big "meh" here. Pretty music, dramatic speeches, and average graphics an awesome game do not make. I will wait till I see more to possibly get excited.
