22 Senators Denounce Obama for Threatening Entire Constitutional System.

"Your actions demonstrate an astonishing disregard for the Constitution, the rule of law, and the rights of American citizens and legal residents," the senators wrote in a letter to Obama. "Our entire constitutional system is threatened when the Executive Branch suspends the law at its whim and our nation’s sovereignty is imperiled when the commander-in-chief refuses to defend the integrity of its borders."

"These policies have operated as an effective repeal of duly enacted federal immigration laws and exceed the bounds of the Executive Branch’s prosecutorial discretion,"

You think these guys have a leg to stand on, or are they just grandstanding?

Grandstanding, but i do not agree with the wide sweeping immigration acceptance that has been suggested.

Grandstanding. I don't know how an Immigration law reform or whatever threatens the entire constitutional system.

That America was a nation founded by immigrants, does not seem to be an argument in favour of unlimited/unregulated immigration; which is what Obama seems to be pushing for before his term time's up. Whether his actions actually threaten or breach the 'Constitutional System' however, I am uncertain.

What kind of saddens me isn't this strong handed rhetoric coming from his political opponents over his policies...that's to be expected.

Are they pissed about his sabre rattling in Syria?
    Nope.
Are they pissed about the blanket NSA surveillance?
    Nope.

They're pissed because of taking the US closer to having universally accessible Healthcare like the rest of the world.
And They're pissed about him not deporting all immigrants and locking the borders.

    Gg republicans. .. gg

every nation was founded by immigrants at some point, but after a couple hundred years i'd say it's time to realize most of the citizens' families have been here many generations

it may be a little grandstanding but i think it's accurate

Translation: they find him guilty of being a Democrat while President.

Grandstanding. politics in the US have had to much time in understanding demographics and statistics. The reasons could be applied to several leaders before Obama. to me they are trying to appeal to the growing Libertarian views of those leaving the GOP.

I didn't get that from the article, which part makes you think that?

The past 10 years has seen an massive step forward in executive power, if if you think its not bad than think on this. If Mitt Romney was president he could have done the same thing but for a longer duration and Obamacare would have been effectively repealed. Just because most of the people that signed it are scumbags doesnt make them wrong.

I prefer to think of it as the hostile takeover of the Libertarian party, not the growing libertarian views. They're changing what Libertarians believe into Tea Party rhetoric.

LOL, I went to the home page of this article to get an idea of what kind of site it is. WHAT A SURPRISE!

They complain about "Big Government" and at the same time whine about government not being fascist enough with regards to border control?

As long as the GOP fail to see the bizarre inconsistency of it's policies ("More government on the stuff we personally dislike!" ... "Less government on the stuff we personally like!", repression and religious enforcement and cuddling with the military while at the same time yelling "more freedom"), they will never be able to challenge the Democrats (outside of gerrymandered institutions and/or through exceptional events such as 9/11 giving GWB 2004 election), even in spite of the fact that the Democrats are rather ideologically inconsistent too, but far from as extremely as the GOP.

You are probably not very far off considering they make everything else as far as issues with Benghazi, why can't they make everything into an issue with Obamacare or the IRS.

Are these senators republican? I thought republicans represent business. Business likes cheap labour.

Unfortunately none of those things are nice juicy vote winners among their base like xenophobia is.

Honestly what does it matter what site it is from. They sent the letter and the quoted parts were contained in the letter.

Remember that whole syria thing when everyone was like, "the president can't just declare war (even tho we totally would let him just to not take the blame because over the years we have let shit like that happen president to president, so we don't have a record of our own bullshit for the public to see) then he threw it back and was like, "I won't declare war unless congress says I can" then everyone was like, "Man, he is weak" ?

When he threw the ball back in their court, what he actually did was give up something they gave that branch, inorder to not have the blame of that decision. EVER
The Ledge has consistantly decided to play the, "Not me" game and allowed the the exe branch to make the choices, so they can point and say, "LOOK, LOOK It's NOT US"
The whole joke being, none of those people QQing want to be on record saying the shit they think they want to say, but they sure as fuck will QQ about not being able too.
