Need to declare martial law in some inner cities.
You cared enough to post.
Thailand has historically been the most unstable of all the Indochina countries, and one of the most unstable in the world; they have a history of corruption that would have made Nixon blush. This recent one is actually related to the military coup a few years ago; the late prime minister who was removed from office late last year had her brother removed in.... 2006? I believe.
... the math makes this 1.3 coups per decade.Thailand's army has staged at 11 successful coups since the end of absolute monarchy in 1932.
wonder how this will affect tourism?
r.i.p. alleria. 1997-2017. blizzard ruined alleria forever. blizz assassinated alleria's character and appearance.

I'm on my way to Thailand, should get there in about 3 months (slow way), hope it doesn't get worse
Oh, hi.
Oh, hi.
Gosh, I cant believe this. In this day and age...
Nah. Closer to 2009. I was in Thailand for about a month during that summer (my wife's parents live there). It was really messed up -- couldn't wear certain colors, random people tossing grenades in a crowd, etc.
IIRC, the most recent conflict has been because the sister?friend? of the previous prime minster (during that incident) wanted to let him back into the country and not put him in jail for his crimes. The people were beyond pissed and demanded punishment.
And so the conflict ensued and no one would concede.
...and soon Phuket will get occupied by men in unmarked military uniforms who demands that Phuket gets annexed by Russia.
Has Blackwater showed up to help with "regime change" yet?
