They HAD to put a date so they could offer preorders with 90 boost. That is why they have given a date.

It say on or before 12/20/14 - I agree.

I also know Blizzard does not ever release things early. The game is not even in Alpha yet. You are all crazy if you think it is coming before 12/20/14. Crazy I say, Crazy.
Blizzard also never gives dates, but this time they have. That's the worst possible case scenario date. It's naive to assume that it will be released on the first day of fall, but it's also pretty foolish to assume that the worst possible scenario date is the actual release date.

The 15th of April is the last day to mail your income tax forms, yes. The 20th of December is the day that Blizzard picked as their worst case scenario date that, in their minds, they cannot possibly miss no matter how much of a clusterfuck happens during testing. Things could go so horrifically wrong at Blizzard that they release the expansion in late December, and people can be lazy and scramble to the post office on the 15th to mail their income tax forms in. Alternatively some people like myself do their income tax in like February, and Alpha/Beta could be smooth sailing for Blizzard and they release WoD in October.

It's the latest date possible, not the only one.

    Nothing but more Blizzard lies.

They have said that every expansion since Wrath of the Lich King, and yet content has not come any faster. They say that to draw customers back in, yet the content droughts keep coming. It is unacceptable to a game that charges monthly to do that.

Which is why I have cancelled my account, and am switching to Wildstar this weekend. If WoD is a huge success I will give it a whirl, but when it comes to Blizzard, I believe it only when I see it.

No, that date is important because its the last day you can submit your taxes, not because "its the date given".

In that case you are mistaken. Alphas are mostly private within the company, and sometimes they have a "friends and family" alpha. Random people usually doesn't get invited until the closed beta stage.

It must be tough being that paranoid.

Sometimes the explanation is simple: Blizz releases games when they are ready for prime time. It's why they are still a company and many other game companies have fallen apart.

Also, has no one paid attention to Blizzard saying "Alpha/Beta mean nothing for this expansion?" and things like "Alpha builds are not indicative of how far along WoD is?"
It seems like a lot of Blizzards customers have difficulty with reading comprehension.

People should actually read what is said, instead of making stuff up.

Blizzard said the game would release FALL 2014, which means, it will be released between 23/09/14 AND 22/12/14. It can be any date during fall. It's not really HARD to comprehend.

More, that rumor post is so badly written that i can not actually believe a word it said, but who knows. Stranger things have happened.

Why is everyone so quick to defend a company that rips its fan base off? They want us to wait 18 months playing the same old content 15x18=$270.00
So we are going to pay around $200 dollars for the same content we already paid $60 dollars for.....and what are we waiting for? An expansion with mostly reused models (elementals, different animals, weapons recolored) which is going to be priced at the cost of a full game. I don't support Blizzard and I hope their game dies.

No, the entire phrase is important. If you could pay your taxes on April 15, you could only pay them on that day, not any other, and sending the money earlier would mean you haven't paid your taxes.

This is mostly correct. They've switched it up a bit recently with how they label and handle Alphas. WoD is in Alpha at the moment, but supposedly much further along than previous Alphas. Heroes of the Storm is in Alpha, but random people (myself included, and I'm not a friend or family member of a Blizzard employee, operator of a fansite, streamer, youtuber, etc.) are getting invites for it, so there are exceptions.

I hope your adventures in Wildstar are much better than mine were.

Because they're only ripping the fans off if the fans let them? If you run out of things to do and don't find the game to be fun anymore, you can always stop paying them for it. That's what I did. Would I like to see more content? Yes, yes I certainly would. I would have liked for them to have kept producing content at the rate that they produced content prior to SoO.

Blizzard has serious issues managing resources for some reason, and that's unfortunate, but I can't attribute it to greed or malice, just that someone, somewhere in Blizzard, is incompetent.

Refer to battle.net to cancel your subscription. You can return at anytime you like and your characters will still be there waiting for you. Not a dime will be spent then.

Unsub? Blizzard isn't forcing you to continue paying.

Because you people SPREAD LIES! SoO is going to be current content for 12-15 months, not 18

Why would I return to a company that rips me off? Don't avoid the main question (fanboy alerts going off)

What they said was on or before 12/20/14. That is their official statement
