Is this a good gaming build for my budget ?

I want to build a good gaming PC and buy the parts from Amazon.com, I am looking for a PC that would last me for at least 2 to 3 years:

My current budget is between 1200 to 1500 dollars:

    http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/...acy-Comics-431

I am thinking of the Unicorn build with some parts from Narwahl on this setup of the month, or if it is possible, could you guys give me a good setup for the budget I have?

I would like to mention that this is the budget for the case alone and I will be using:

    - Monitor: http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-QX2710-LE...ords=ips+1440p
    - Mouse: RAzor Imperator
    - Keyboard: Logitech 510
    - OS: Windows 7

Off-topic: the PC I am using has 5 2TB HDD, will there be a performance decrease if I transfer 4 of them onto the new pc I am going to build ??

    Thank you

I believe he is buying either 1440p or at least a better IPS

Also needs to be from Amazon according to the OP.

Left out HDDs since you said you had some already.

If you can afford a 290X (Tri-X) go for it.

Paying a little extra for the PSU, case and CPU heatsink as you live in Dubai, so I assume it's quite hot. They all Amazon/Prime, if something isn't international you'll have to let us know and we can look for a replacement or maybe you can find similar products in Dubai?

Case alternative if you're not fond of White:

    Corsair 500R Black
    Corsair 450D

If anything else is missing let us know.

thanks, its hot here but the AC's is directed at the PC so it would not get hot there.

I would strongly recommend changing the cooler to a noctua NH-D14. roughly the same price and is one of the best/quietest cpu coolers on the market. Only drawback is the size. Used to work for a company building custom pc's and corsair are generally louder and more pricey in my experience

Replying to PM here, just to keep the information in one place...

If you keep the QNIX QX2710, see if you can't fit this GPU in the budget:

    Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X $557

Even though the 290 in the build will still do fine, 290X will just give you little extra longevity and power to run the 1440p.

If you wanna save a little on the monitor then get the one we talked about in your other thread:

    Dell P2414H $230

And then the 290 is just fine.

As for the comment about Corsair cooling, it's true they do tend to run a little louder, not necessarily loud though unless you run at 100%.

    H75 Review

Alternatively you could pick this air cooler around the same price point:

NZXT HAVIK 140 $60 (also looks pretty good in this build if you care about that)

I think i will stay with the Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card over Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X, it will go over my budget......
Will the QNIX and the Gigabyte r9 290 work well together ?

    thanks

I would say yes. Here are some benchmarks for 1440p for the R9 290, note it's a reference card so the Gigabyte results would be a little better.

    Performance comparison, different games 1440p

Here is a Gigabyte Windforce 290 review, mostly 1600p result which is even more demanding than 1440p:

Thanks for the help sofar. Everything seems great, I still have around 100$ left in my budget after the last build you gave me and the QNIX ( http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-QX2710-LE...ords=ips+1440p).

What should I improve? , I think a better graphic card than the one you gave me would be overkill :P

Save the money, go out for dinner or something

There is a different model model with more connection options like DP, HDMI and DVI, a little more expensive though:

If you want a Qnix one, get the one that Notarget just linked.
    Ignore the overclock though.

Well, the long and short of it is that Notarget's build is better than mine, given that you wanted a 1400p or better.

Thanks Everyone, Especially Notarget. So this is the build that you gave me just to keep the information here at the bottom:

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($234.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H75 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($69.99 @ Amazon)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Amazon)
    Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($74.99 @ Amazon)
    Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($139.00 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($399.99 @ Amazon)
Case: NZXT H440 (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($119.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ Amazon)
    Total: $1268.93

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have some other questions I hope you guys can answer regarding this build:

1- Is the QNIX 1440p worth the risk? I heard that some people have had problems like bleeding or dead pixels. What are my other options of good monitors for gaming and entertainment use ? ( my budget for a monitor is 400$ or less )

2- If I wait a bit more and increase my budget by around 200$ to 300 $, What are some major upgrades to this build ??

3- This is a technical Question: I have around 8 TBs ( 4 HDD ) on my current PC and they are all around 90% full ( I use them all ). Should I keep them in my old PC and use the files through LAN file sharing, or should I move them to this new PC?

Thanks So Far Guys, this community never fails me

    1. Up to you. For $400 that's pretty much only 1440p available, you'd have to downgrade to 1080p 144hz.
    2. Nothing major. Maybe name brand 1440p monitor, or up the GPU to R9 290X
    3. For less overall power consumption you should just move them into the new build. However, it will be quite a tight fit with the GPU while using the drive cage in that case.

1- What if I wait a bit more for a good monitor?

Now I am thinking with my budget of buying the Korean model now or wait a bit more for a good monitor I dont mind it being 1080p or 1440p ( suggestions ?)?

2- Graphic card: I am really liking the Gigabyte r9 290 notarget linked me, but I want to look at other options too, What are some other graphic cards around the same price? ( 400$) ( upto 100 dollars more if it is worth the upgrade ) ?

Thank you guys, sorry for asking lots of questions. I want to buy something that could last be a long time.

You could always wait / save up a bit for either a PB278Q or U2713HM.
Of course when it comes to monitors, there's like a billion choices soooooo...... 'good' monitor generally has to fit the user's need.

As for the GPU, R9 290 is the best price per performance as far as I remember.

Not like the latest Qnix I linked is bad by any means, take it from CheezusCrust he owns one and I know other people with the same one. This is the more expensive one with DP/HDMI/DVI.

    http://www.amazon.com/Perfect-pixel-...ds=QNIX+QX2710

And I mean you've gotten many replies on GPU performance, links to reviews, just read them and make a decision
