Anyone seen it yet?
For a first episode it looks pretty interesting.

Strange murders are happening in Tokyo. Due to liquid evidence at the scene, the police conclude the attacks are the results of 'eater' type ghouls. College buddies Kaneki and Hide come up with the idea that ghouls are imitating humans so that's why they haven't ever seen one. Little did they know that their theory may very well become reality.

Well its kinda a story like vampires. But unlike only need a blood, they feed on a whole corpse. Oh and before you ask....the cant eat food.

If you read manga or anything else..please dont spoil it .

I've read the manga. Tokyo Ghoul is amazing.

I won't spoil anything, but pacing wise it seems the anime is rushing a bit probably to get through all the early stuff quickly in order to get to the awesome stuff. It's a bit annoying seeing some stuff cut but it's normal for that not everything will make it into the anime. I'm really hoping this is a 24-26 episode anime though.

Well it has 12 volumes.

Usualy one volume is 4-5 episodes.

Site i am watching has 10 episodes...so its posible thats just season 1.

It has 12 vols of what? Also this isn't a 1:1 adaption either things got cut out from the manga and things got added in that were anime original the first episode blew through like 6 chapters. If you are talking about BD's most of the websites I found only have 4 Vols with 3 episodes in it. So it's either going to be 12 or 13 episodes total. As of right now the number of episodes are not set in stone just pure speculation so I would be glad if you stopped spreading speculation as fact. For all we know it could be a split cour which means that after this cour we will get another one down the road.

Of course things are going to be cut and/or changed in the anime that's normal and to be expected. But to blow though ~80 chapters of material in 13 episodes would be crazy and well impossible. Then can you explain to me as to why Yamori showing up before the start of the Aogiri Arc.
Because he isn't suppose to at all yet. That whole opening was anime original. I guess we wait and find out how many episodes it's really going to be. I really don't trust the studio that is working on this.

Well the first episode is supposed to be the 'hook' episode that gets people interested in the series. So jam as much awesome into it as possible to get people interested. I will say its amazing, rushed, but it does work. I was expecting the first episode to end around the time Touka kills that molester in front of Kaneki and finds out he was the one Rize was with I was sad when that was cut.

The fact they are adding in anime original tells me it's going to get rushed and ya I wanted to see the scene get animated too was sad when they cut it.

Broken Blade is a good example of anime skipping . Heck i am rewatching the new episodes and i see a lot of new stuff.


The production of the anime was announced in the middle of January 2014. Later information revealed that the studio behind it will be Studio Pierrot and it will be directed by Shuhei Morita.
So average time is 3 weeks to produce one episode. (quality one, not like the one like one-piece)

8 Episodes should be done by now. --- so thats extra 8 weeks to produce another 3. In total 12.
In theory thats it.

Really hoping 12-13 episodes only goes through the Gourmet arc. Having seen many good anime cheapened by being made only 12 episode and rushing or outright skipping a lot of source material. I really don't want to this anime to suffer that fate.

Ya 1 cour is enough to get to the Gourmet Arc, so we won't see Aogiri Arc or white hair Kaneki.

Yeah, hopefully they limit how much they try to cram into the first cour, because otherwise this'll end up being just like Zetman.
