    United sweets of America

    I found this rather amusing.

    http://www.slate.com/articles/life/f...e_country.html

My favourite would probably be North Dakota. Krumkake is delicious, though Illinois (brownies), Florida (key lime pie), New Jersey (salt water taffy), and Vermont (maple candy) are close.

Wooo, go Kansas! Only slightly superior to Michigan.... but in terms of sweets only. Because Michigan is awesome.

Yeah I knew Utah would be Jell-O That stuff is disgusting. I can't stand it.

I think Georgia fits me the best. A nice peach cobbler hits the spot. Especially made over a fire in a dutch oven. Ahhh I miss camping.

Was thinking my state would be something potato related but surprised they got it right with huckleberry pie O.o. Huckleberries grow everywhere in the wild here and huckleberry picking is a favorite past time for many Idaho people, heck went picking a month ago myself lol.

Which aren't from there or served almost any place. They were just trying to fill a blank space with that choice.

Yeah, it is a strange choice, but my opinion still stands.

I know. Having lived in Utah for about half my life, I've never had green jello with carrots, (something that apparently is a staple here? What?). I don't mind jellow with marshmallows and bananas in it, though.

Also, totally inaccurate commentary on the state of Utah and Mormons. The writer said Mormons don't drink caffeine. LOL. If only they knew.

my jimmy's were notably rustled when nanaimo bars showed up on WA. Even if they acknowledged where they came from...that's just, not right!

Pecan Pie makes sense for Texas, but Kolaches would also have been a good call.

If we expand this out I'd nominate Inverclyde, Scotland for a Fudge Donut.

Really, they belong in New Mexico. But we have bizcochitos, which are amazing too.

Yeah I've had that carrot thing. It's what started my hatred for jello lol.
I do like jello 'fruit salad' though. I think it's because it doesn't really keep much of the jello texture that I don't like.

I had hoped my home state of Illinois had something better than brownies.

Don't put anything in my jello. The jello must remain pure!

Illinois is pretty shitty all around so not surprising that we get one of the treats that most resembles fecal matter
