    Derp. Derp.

You aren't very smart are you?

Am I just imagining it or was there a crippling recession that still effects us today? Do you know how modern economics works? Do you know who is more responsible for the economy then the president?

That's right. Congress. Do you remember when the GOP almost defaulted the country? Or how the tea-party has fought every effort to pump money back into the middle-class? The GOP loves war machines and over price medicine though, those bills fly through.

What a surprise, another "thanks Obama" thread by resident conservatives.

Sure, he can influence Congress to some degree, but Congress right now is a major block for anything Obama wants done, because the Republicans hate him. They don't just dislike his platform or his policies or his political stance, they hate him.

And yeah, I find it funny you blame this on the president, when, as others have already mentioned, the Congress shot down a min-wage increase bill. So is it the President against fixing the income inequality gap? Or is it maybe the actual people with the Constitutional authority to create laws?

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...increase-bill/

"The senators who voted "no" today are doing so contrary to the wishes of the American people,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters Wednesday.
Blatantly false. You just have to define "people" as corporations.

Obviously employers want to pay more but, Comrade Obama tells them no! Plus minimum wage laws keep wages at a minimum! That is why it's called a minimum wage law!

But conservatives like yourself says he is a socialist who wants to fundamentally transform America. But he's also incompetent, but also a master at multi-level government conspiracies.

In short, your ideology doesn't make any sense in reality.

Except that the The Washington Times is a well known Republican propagandist. This is "news" as much as Faux News is "news."

So when a Republican campaigns on the economy--I can go find an example of it in about two seconds of Googling if you'd like--I get to come back and insult you as a partisan hack, right?

I like how doing the exact same thing Republicans do is worthy of insulting half the country. This is what this nation has come to. No wonder we're fucked.

The title of OP is completely false though. My husband is a Corrections Officer , a federally contracted worker, and he just got the mandatory raise Obama required. So our income did raise, will raise by another $1/hr by next year, and I assure you, we are nowhere near the top 10% >.>

They tend to lean a bit more right, though, because there are a lot of right wing people who read it.
It is a failing newspaper owned by a Korean evangelist who wants a Christian Theocracy in America.

But guys, the Obama economy has created 4.5 million jobs!

So does he get credit for good economic news under his Presidency, but none of the blame for bad economic news?

Of course. Good things happen despite him, bad things happen because of him.

1> Raise minimum wage, which will provide upward pressure that boosts wages throughout the working and middle class.
2> Raise corporate/capital gains taxes, disincentivizing profit for profit's sake and encouraging re-investment in the company to expand/improve operations
    3> Wage caps for executives

Just for starters. Plenty of options that encourage/require employers to invest more in their workforce.

He gets the blame and the credit, for pretty much everything. Where have you been living?
