Thumbs down With the BMAH now some players with gold are the best geared in the world.

This happens in light of the fact gold buying or farming with illegitimate means is rampart in this game.

Now those players have in terms of gear the best advantage in the world without even proving it.

Isn't this kind of extreme gearing-up a violation of any e-sports ethic?

spending hours every week boosting people who can't perform well through challenge modes or flex (garrosh looms) isn't "illegitimate means". Everyone could have done the same as they did and outbid them. People didn't, thus they did not gain the advantage.

Besides, WoW -raids has never been recognised as an "e-sport" in any way, and it won't untill Blizzard decides to actually give all regions even playing fields (EG, raids/expansions released at the same time across continents, rather than delayed).

I love how this complaint is being made literally two years after it was implemented.

i know plenty of people who are gold capped on several toons purely from selling heroic and mythic garrosh runs with their guild at the end of MoP. So yes there may be some who got their gold illegitimately but there are MANY who actually earned their gold.
Tell them that the Lich King is dead...and the World of Warcraft...died with him.

A lot of people play this game purely for the gold making aspect and to get gold capped. Of course they are going to be the ones who control the BMAH. If they got their gold legitimately, then why is this a problem? They earned their money and can spend it on whatever they want to.

If you have given up in this game in having any legitimate competition, what can I say, I do not want to play with you.

Who cares if they are geared well from it. It means they blew their money on gear just so they could be the "first to gear" and they need to earn more now. It's a valid gearing path.

no it doesn't. stop talking nonsense if you have no idea what's actually going on. there's a lot of legitimate ways in WoW to make tons of gold, only because you don't know how to doesn't mean others don't either.

a lot of players did challenge mode sellruns for example or raid sellruns, you could literally make a million gold in a few days doing that in MoP. Easily. Now with that being said, of course there's a lot of players who have tons of gold, and why not buy something for it then? Nothing wrong with that. Like, at all. It's even a good thing because it takes gold out of the system so inflation isn't that bad.

plus, when did WoW become an e-sport? it's not. it's a mmorpg. a roleplaying game.

Blizzard invites it by putting mythic items for sale 3 months before they are released in-game. We have a huge guild bank, and lots of my guys have multiple times gold cap. When a pair of BRF bracers appeared last week we insta-capped them. We'll do the same for the next item. I would much prefer it if this shit system was simply removed, but until it is, we'll buy the lot.

It was made at the start of MoP, but quickly forgotten about.

As it will be again after realm firsts and what not start getting knocked out.

Wasn't it like 5 or 6 months before releasing Raids? I can't recall correctly.

OT: My Guild alone sold over 30 garrosh hc kills, we are all gold capped several times. Guild bank has 20m gold.

sounds like sour grapes over an item that was on the BMAH which was either G-Capped or above what you can afford to pay for it.
Suck it up, grow a pair and deal with it. They will have a small advantage for a few weeks at most, and there is nothing worse than someone who bitches about other people having better loot than they do.

people spent tons of gold on fleeting items for a temporary bosst in power (which can be offset by skill + dedication). Working as intended.

It has been posts made before. It is a new progression race.

There is even a streamed event of a guild doing zone wide area disruption on a same faction member that was competing with them for a piece of gear. Despite evidence including chat logs of players knowingly doing of zone wide area disruption along with AoE spaming in attempts to lag a player out which both are against policies this guild which gets invitations to Blizzard events didnt get any punishment. This occurred during a progression race period.

Gear on BMAH can bring some quite nasty behavior as if it really was a black market activity.

There being a cap removes the completion aspect of it besides trying to camp for first to bid. Blizzard probably does this on the bases of getting gold out of the system as it was designed with no care about how screwy it is and the kind of behavior including harassment that it brings. The feature should be fun and not a source of player griefing.
