I suppose you could solo them but really they're more efficient and fun with others. Did three of them, first time I missed gold by like 4 points, next two times got gold.
It's especially cool doing it with actual friends and being like you go here, I'll stay here, hey grab that rylak etc.

When I did my first invasion it was the Botani, I soloed it as a warlock although I just managed to do it. Since then I have taken two guildies though since soloing is just annoying. Rather do it with friends and be over 1000 points before the final boss spawns rather than need the final boss and just hit 1000 by myself.

You need 3 DPS, but yes. It's also a lot easier as Horde.

Just force a botani(spelling) invasion and glide to gold like it is nothing.
