Man on a rampage kicks apartment door while wielding a machete in Pocatello, Idaho.

A man accused of threatening people with a machete has been formally charged.

Twain N. Thomas, 54, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of burglary.

Thomas was released from Portneuf Medical Center and arrested on the charges Sunday. He was being held in the Bannock County jail.

According to Pocatello Police, Thomas entered an upstairs apartment with two people in it and threatened the residents with a machete early in the morning of February 22. After leaving that apartment, Thomas then entered another downstairs apartment, also with two people in it, and made similar threats.

Thomas, who also lived in the apartment complex in the 200 block of Garfield, was shot in the torso by one of the residents living in the downstairs apartment.

Feel bad for the guy who had to shoot a clearly mentally ill man. He was within his rights to do so but still that definitely will scar him. His landlord also REALLY needs to provide decent doors. I mean my old apartment door could be kicked through fairly easily if you were determined but not that easy. I'm shocked there isn't some code anywhere that the landlord violated for having such a shitty door. Thankfully he did have a gun though.

Camera set up and rolling, a paper door probably imported from Japan, he opens the door and gets the guys attention, the man walks through the paper door knocking over the camera so you cannot see what happens next then the man that was shot says "I was going to kill you, I deserved it that you shot me".

I paraphrased what he said but it was pretty damn close, he may as well said "it was a fair cop guv", the whole thing is comical it is so bad.
