Being fat as a Girl vs Guy

How come being "Fat" is more and more acceptable if you're a girl, than a guy?
And how come it's no longer an insult if you're a guy while if you're a girl it's a huge thing and should be avoided.

And there's some background why this keeps bothering me. Usually when shopping I look out for sizes for pants and such, while at the guys section I barely find pants with the waist size bigger than 34 EUR and the length shorter than 32 EUR. And these are pants usually bought from "Lee, G-Star and such".
While this absolutely doesn't affect me, it sure does bother me when trying to buy pants for my father, or other friends that use bigger sizes. There's literaly only pants in small sizes, ranging from 25 to 29. And if you're outside that range, you might be lucky and find the sizes UP to 32/34, and if you do, there's just a few of them. And the worst part isn't that, but that those pants are size 32 in length. Which means me ( as 1.83 can't use them.).

And what kind of standard of a guy does that give us? A guy has to be 1.90m + And if you're over 32 in waist, well tough luck. Find another shop, such as mass production clothes which are extremely uncomfortable. (HM etc). Which absolutely sucks.

However if we look at girls sizes, we find the opposite. Usually shopping with my GF we have to spend time finding a avaible pair. Why? Becaue most of them range from bigger sizes only and there's literally zero small sizes. Most of them are 34 and up. (Yes, it's the same EUR sizes for guys.) And length? You have absolutely a billion of them. Try to look at skinny sizes? You can't find them. They're non existing. They maybe have 1 pair each shop. While the bigger sizes? Absolutely filled with them.

And what standard does that give us for females? Height? NONE! You can choose between everyting you want. Waist? That you're most likely to find clothes on bigger sizes, as .. if you make them thin sizes they'll complain how unhealthy it is to be skinny.

Again, this might not be the case in the US. However, Europe? Pretty much.

So this brings me to think, why is there such acceptance for girls being overweight, while guys being overweight is a bad thing.

Because you're considered curvy if you're a fat girl and apparently you're less of a man if you don't accept them.

Put bluntly, it's not. Sure, there's an insane and pathological movement to promote fat acceptance, but very few people are buying into it in practice. People that are valuable commodities in the dating market still seem more likely to hook up with overweight men than overweight women, and obese people are considered unattractive by almost everyone, regardless of gender.

Fat men most of the time either do not care about being fat or they choose not to complain about it or blame other factors. Call a man fat and he knows why he is fat, call a woman fat and you will get an earful of excuses and abuse.

    Obese, yes.
However I can't agree with the overweight part.

Because we treat women like goddesses and men like mules.

Mah condishuns! Healthy food is so expensive! I don't have 14 hours a day to spend in the gym, shitlord! Genetics! Slow metabolism!

Anything but just saying, "yeah, I like fried chicken, waffles, and beer a little too much and I'm pretty lazy".

But this goes also for "Skinny women". They do aswell get alot of crap from females that are "Curvy - Since it's a better wording than fat". Might also add Anorexia on skinny aswell. As that's how every skinny female is for them.

As a slim tall guy, buying pants is a pain in the ass also. I mostly find pants with waists larger than the leg length.

And for your question, kind of as Rich said above, guys tend to feel ashamed of being fat, women tend to defend it. Just my observation.

I'm only a shade over 5'8 and still have issues with this. Turns out 28-32 is not a common size in our obese-leaning society.

Ah, a fellow brother. I have slightly the same issue. I have 26 waist. Buy my THIGHS? No way they fit. I have to go around with a 28 because of my thighs. And then my waist is loose, and having a belt around that size is unbearable.
Yes, but they also accept it rather than blaming it. And it's not just about how we accept it, however how it's accepeted by the world. As if you're a guy be skinny.
If you're a female. Be whatever you want, just not Skinny (Anorexia how they like to call them).

Where does one get pants at 28 length!

If we flip through some popular media, this is obviously not true.

The reason there's a push for women to be accepted as people even if they're overweight is because that's not how it is. There's plenty of overweight males who are famous, because males are treated much more about who they are and what they do. Not so with women.

But as usual, people around here see people saying women need more acceptance and then turn around and state that women are the only ones who have acceptance. Its like this board differentiates each topic, mathematically speaking.

I'm curious what size I'd be in American measurements.

    38R waist UK size.

How does that convert to murrican jean size?

Or do you keep it the same.

A biproduct of the female superiority movement ie feminism.

Women no matter how grotesquely huge, can not under any circumstances be considered fat.

Yeah, it's still just inches around the waist.

I feel your pain all too well :c You'd think skinny fit chinos/skinny jeans would remedy this but they don't, pretty sure it's a scam orchestrated by tailors.

OT: This seems reversed to me, more often than not a fat guy will be described as "solid" or "built like a brick shithouse"

What's weird is a size 38 isn't always a size 38. It's like the definition of 38 inches varies from place to place, which makes no sense.
