I think it's a bit understandable since he only found out he smells like the jealous witch after his traumatic death with the maid. At that point he didn't really care about anything other than surviving past the 3 (or was it 4 idk) days.

But in general, yeah, it's a bit silly he didn't try to at least look into it earlier.

Fire Punch ch 5 - Wait, what? So the 'dead' bloodrelated sister that the mc wanted to fuck and that ended up dying is still alive after 8 years? And she even decapitated her own brother and got her 'cronies' to keep shooting at his head so he can't regenerate. 11/10 manga
