Drifters 7:
From what i understand this anime. Drifters are warmogering people and generals/heroes that were saved just before they died, while ends are people who got saved after they got betrayed by their own people. The guy that is hiding his face must be Jezus 100%.
Don't sweat the details!!!

from here. but It could be complete bogus for what I know.
It's not that people don't like CG, it's that people don't like CG that doesn't composite well with the rest of the show.
Gundam Unicorn is a case example of excellent CG, as the Unicorn CG and composited very well with the rest of the show.
Aldnoah has pretty good CG but it could've been composited better. The effect works to the show's advantage, since the CG adds to the otherworldly nature of the Martian Kataphrakts.
Ufotable employs intensive use of CG for their backgrounds (Ufotable doesn't have experienced 2D background animators, see The Canipa Effect's video on that) and FX to great effect, though they do occasionally run into compositing problems (such as the dragons in Zestiria).

Wait, oh, CG in live action? Because only now are we reaching the point where CG on high definition film is starting to look flawlessly convincing, see Mad Max: Fury Road (where the intensive use of CGI was so good, absolutely nobody noticed!) and Life of Pi. In a (comparatively) lower budget production like an FMA adaptation, the CG isn't going to look as good, but going by the teaser it might hold up just good enough.
