Old (Dutch?) trick when you have a sore throat:
Make a scarf wet (not soaking, more like moist) and wear it at night, while sleeping.

And for the rest I can only say take lot's of rest, drink enough water (water > tea) and don't look at any screens (TV/PC/Smartphone/etc).

Onion juice + honey == staple recipe for me when I got the cold.

A cold fruit smoothie/slushie and a couple ibuprofen.

Rest and drink water, that's what I do when I'm sick.

for sore throat, fisherman's friend usually helps. Also for runny nose and coughing, I usually inhale stuff, mostly that vapoRub which I use on my chest before sleeping.

    Also, remember:
If you treat a cold, you will be sick for seven days.
If you don't, it'll be gone in a week.

I get a big container of Sunny D and eat lots and lots of ramen with habenero hot sauce. The spicy ramen clears the nasal passages and the Sunny D brute forces the illness with Vitamin C. Works like a charm.

At hot soak, with your head above the water. This does the same thing a fever does, only faster due to the fact your extremities (i.e. hands/feet) are also extremely hot. This is also how I break a fever, it's usually breaks a couple hours later.

This. Unbeknownst to some...a fever is a body's attempt to help the immune system fight something off by making the body an inhospitable place. Subjecting yourself to a safe level of increased body temp is one if the best ways to fight anything. Fevers, while dangerous, are useful. Taking a fever reducer when you only have a small fever is actually helping the bacteria/virus.

I find that sleep is the best remedy. Drink lots of fluids- Pedialyte or Gatorade will do. Wrap yourself in a thick blanket and just rest/sleep as much as possible.

If you have the energy, workout. Light workouts are great at combating colds and such.

Since i get a cold quite often and all sort of lung and airway related illnesses this is what i do.

Drink quite a lot of water and tea, looked up the translation since don't know all herbs back and forth in english. Often chamomile with honey. Thyme and ginger also work great.
Beyond that i also got an air humidifier in the area i sit a lot, with eucalyptus extract. Clears up the air ways.

Never get colds, but I have issues with my throat quite a lot.. Usually just drink a lot of tea with ginger, honey and lemon. Don't know how much it helps, but sure feels nice.

Drink Tee with Honey and mix a small shot of bourbon or Whiskey. The shot is supposed to help clear out your throat and feels good in the stomach.

Rub Eucalyptus on your nose. It is supposed to help your nose not be soor from blowing all the time.

I get cold/flu very, very rarely. It sucks even more when I do, and I'm completely unprepared for it :/

Ive got a plan that always works and is a lot of fun. Get a lot of vitamin c, I usually drink orange juice for this. Take a Sudafed (the good kind, not that fake kind), get something with dextromethorphan in it (robitussin, mucinex, etc...) and take 2 of the little caps of it so its like twice the normal amount (or more if u wanna get funky), drink about 3-4 beers worth of alcohol. Eat some warm soup and pass out. Wake up feeling good.
