Exit polling finds that the average income of Trump supporters is $79k. Then extrapolates that people who are born into wealth are... "more likely" to go to school. So therefor they're "more educated"

So, who wants to point out this failure of logic?

Better educated because they have more money to afford, but not smarter.

And what a surprise, why would rich people not vote in Trump who obviously will pander to the upper class even more than Hillary would, who is already considered a corporate shill?

Aside from that: you can't buy yourself out of stupidity.

People supporting a person famous for exaggerating his income and wealth... are asked by an exit poll to self report their income.

I guess making an imaginary $79K a year allows you to buy nice red hats made in China.

Trump himself was sent to a Military Academy by his father.

And you know what that means. He was a spoiled little shit head that his parents couldn't control, because he'd been spoiled by all that wealth. And that military academy certainly didn't do shit to educate him.

You can send stupid kids to school, but you can't make them smart.

It's only imaginary if you ignore the value of their brands, which are yuuuuge.

I just realized Trump is 69. I wonder how much he draws from from Social Security? That would be in his tax return.

Good to know my payroll taxes are supporting Chinese Hat makers and their tie making friends in Mexico.

That is a very low bar.

He probably gets like 1200 a month from social security like the rest of the seniors. Its probably hard capped just like unemployment is hardcapped.

I love those conspiracy videos where it goes "Hillary was here at this time, AND SO WAS THIS OTHER GUY." and points out a bunch of other random coincidental factoids about certain liberal politicians, then it says at the end "Think for yourself, be an independent thinker, you know what's going on."

It leads them to a conclusion, then tells them to think for themselves, then they boast to everyone about how independent thinking they are for being led to believing in conspiracy theories.

I thought independently and came to the conclusion that the earth is flat, just because.

They don't realize that "independent thinking" has this oft overlooked sidenote/connotation that it has to actually adhere with and refer to real events. But again, conservatives tend to ignore context and skip reading between the lines if it means fueling their agenda, so it's not surprising I guess.

Hmm, "better" in what sense? For example, among my physics PhD buddies, I don't know a single one who would even consider voting for Trump. But if you, say, ask people at some high level business school, then there Trump will have quite a significant support, since his policies strongly favor businesses. The article mentions that a higher percentage of people voting for Trump has university degrees than national average - but, without going into specifics on those degrees, such claim is moot.

As you said, they come to their own conclusions about what the truth is, regardless of reality. There's lots of conspiracy stuff flying around out there that makes them believe Hillary and others are involved in grand conspiracies.
